frappe has a 2230 sat and 3.93 GPA. The previous admitted student had similar stats. This isn’t looking so good for me :/

chicagobears, your stats are decent!! i’m the one worrying! haha.

I’m not sure decent will suffice given this year’s increase in freshmen.

My acceptance letter came by mail in a large envelope that said “Congratulations” on the front.
I’d like to add that my recommendations and essays most likely helped me considerably, so ChicagoBears1, I’m certain you have a great chance if you made your case effectively through your supplementary materials.

I was also accepted as a bioengineering major.

so, did you already turn down the offer? lol

I felt that my essays were stellar and I had 3 recs: one from a NU alum and 2 from professors (one being a UChicago alum which may hurt my case). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve yet to receive my spring quarter grades but don’t foresee my GPA dropping below a 3.75 (currently a 3.81).

has anyone heard from students who aren’t on this forum?

@Ace6904

Well I dont quite agree that an econ major will delay the decision. I’m a transfer student of NU last fall. I’m a econ major and my acceptance letter was mailed out on June 3rd. So basically I would assume the date they make decision on you depends on the date you complete your app and the date they receive your spring quarter/semester grade (if they need to put your latest grade into consideration)

Best wishes to everyone here and welcome to NU!!

mailman passed with no mail today. :/

same here :(

I actually checked this right after checking my own mailbox to find only a magazine. I really can’t stand having days off from work right now. All I can bring myself to do is wait for the mail to arrive. I guess no letter is better than a rejection…

same here, i’m just glad not to be getting any thin envelopes, i want a package from fedex please lol

so the reject letter comes thru the mailbox with USPS, but acceptance comes thru FedEx delivered to ur front door?

^thats what ive heard, its possible that fedex gives it to usps to make the final delivery, but if its an acceptance letter, it’ll be a package and not a thin envelope, thats for sure

how are we supposed to send our spring grades? like can we email, or do they need an official transcript?

they need an official transcript, but you might be able to fax them an unofficial one for review while they wait for an official one

They need an official transcript sent from your institute’s office of the registrar, but I believe it will help if you fax or email them one before arranging the registrar to send them an official one.

@dingdingmh:

They recieved my final transcript before 5/18 according to an email inquiry. I don’t know anyone on this thread applying to McCormick has received a decision… But it seems like most of us on this thread is not applying for McCormick xD
Or maybe I am just being impatient…

someone was accepted for bioengineering, but is going elsewhere

Fellow applicants,

I have been left bemused after being told by an admissions counselor that this year’s transfer applicants may receive their long awaited letter (whatever its contents) as late as mid July. In my personal case, this is no hassle at all as I am only willing to enroll at Northwestern. Howbeit, I do realize and regret the inconvenience this is to so many of you. I wish you all a lovely summer vacation!
