Northwestern Fall 2011 Transfer Thread

Hopefully being on the quarter system won’t affect my chances. I’m still waiting on my Spanish grade…sigh

I’m having the same problem with fedex.com because I don’t know where to find my account number…

make sure you set up a fedex shipping account first, then add the online part

i had trouble with this, but there is a link under shipping i believe, to open up a new acct,

youll need a credit card number (for verification), and then it will give you an account number, and voila!

Nothing for me on fedex insight but then again I haven’t mailed my final transcript (waiting on 1 more grade).

I actually forgot about NU entirely… so the fact that no decision has come hasn’t been stressing me out for once.
It could just be that I have 2 jobs and an internship and I don’t have time to even think about the mail… but now I am thinking about it… hmm. I want to set up an account for FedEx, but I don’t really want to stress over not getting a package so I will just be patient and wait for either a letter or a package. I’m kinda surprised that it’s already mid-June and a lot of people still haven’t heard back!

I just submitted my final transcript. I’m hoping to hear back within the next few weeks!

nothing in the mail today either. apparently nothing thru fed ex yet.
this is really getting annoying… i would like to know soon so i have ample time to make a decision if i do get in.

“this is really getting annoying…”

I second that. It’s been exactly 50 days now since the May 1st deadline – I know it was the same wait last year, but does it really have to take this much time???

How many of you would go if accepted?

all of us lol, hopefully

OH MY GOD! I have a package from fedex scheduled to arrive Monday! PLease, please, please be from NU!!

=) Hopefully from NU!
How exactly does insight fed ex work?? what do i click? lol

Awesome! Stats?

Ha yeahh. there’s a program at my current school that i want to do before school starts up again in Aug, so i’d like to know!

I’m on the semester system and had my final transcript sent in early May. Apparently at some point the transcript was lost, which is why my decision has taken so long. This is so frustrating, I call northwestern daily to check my application status, I’m not sure why none of the counselors ever mentioned that they were missing a transcript until now. About $20 for FedEx overnight, but it happens I guess.

I never sent my spring grades in and I still found out that I was accepted on the 16th. So it doesn’t seem like they are necessarily waiting on final grades to make a decision.

i posted my stats awhile back, but it doesnt say where its from, it shows that it was shipped on the 17th and made it to rockford, so id assume it was from somewhere in IL

One thing you could try is going to “ship by reference” and then type in your address, and it might show something

im crossing my fingers that its from them, how horrible would it be if they sent a rejection through fedex XD

Here are my stats one more time, so you don’t have to go digging.

Rising Sophomore

HS:
4.0 UW GPA
29 ACT (Oct. '08)
1490 SAT (V+M)(May '10)
Class President, Varsity Letters in Football, Wrestling, Scholastic Bowl, Math Team (Won 2nd place 2-person team), Relay For Life, Giving Power to Adolescents, Baseball JV

Went to College at 16 years old to a T1 LAC:

Swim Team, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Delegate to UN for local NGO, Certified Sex-Ed instructor, Community Service

College GPA ~3.2-3.3

Rigorous courses + Ensemble

I have a stellar LoR from a Harvard Professor, pretty good essays, a resume, and a Legacy (my dad went to NU), so I think that helped a lot

Also, I sent a letter explaining my mediocre-looking GPA, so if it is indeed an acceptance letter, I really think that helped my case.

monacle,

Congratulations if you do get in.

I’m wondering how people get letters of recommendation from professors at schools like Harvard or Yale, for example. Did you know the professor outside of school or did you take a class there? I’m just curious; it’s not like I have time to get one myself.

An Econ/Anthro Professor from Harvard taught for one year at my school. I made sure to take his classes and get on his goodside lol.

good thing too, he’s going back to harvard next year so I wouldn’t have had him for next year :/
