but the letter dien't say anything about HPME. :(

<p>i'm a junior hoping to go to northwestern hpme... what's the best extra-curricular i can do during the summer to better my chances? i got into the nw pre-college program thsi summer to take a science class, will that help?</p>

<p>Choco Brownie: are you an international student? That would explain why you received your letter so early. Also, I'm pretty sure the HPME notification is separate so i wouldn't worry about it.</p>
<p>snooverous-the sci class probably won't help that much; hpme looks for passion in medicine, and that passion is reflected from your ECs. So usually, strong candidates for hpme have ECs that are medically-related (medical research, hospital work, etc).</p>

<p>Choco Brownie, did you get an interview offer? I'm also an international student who applied to HPME, but I'm worried that I'm out of the running because I never received an invitation for an HPME interview.</p>
<p>I'm not sure about this, goirulz, but I think those still left in running were all invited for interviews (internationals could do them over the phone) in late February.</p>
