Does anyone know how many usually apply, how many get interviews, and how many get accepted? Just trying to see my chances.

Thanks.

Thanks.

1200 apps
800 get supplemental apps
700 fill out
100 get interviews
~30-35 accepted to fill ~25 spots

Congrats to everyone who has received interview requests! Hope to see you guys around campus!

Don’t worry if parts of your applications went in a little late, they will give you a little wiggle room.

Dang I really hope to get an interview…
for those who got one, did you find out via e-mail or phone?

I found out via email

Here are some facts from last year, that will help you guys.

HPME interviews were held last year from Jan 26 to March 6.
They interviewed on 3 days in a week. I do not remember which days. Mine was on a Tuesday. The interviews are long and intense. They interviewed 6 people the day I was there.

The NorthWestern decision came out first on Thursday 3/26 and the HPME decision came out on Monday 3/30. You get an email from HPME coordinator if you get in.

I am the lucky one who got in last year and decided to come here. Our class is only 20 people. They did accept about 40 but only 20 finally enrolled.

I hope this helps. I was in a similar boat last year and just wanted to share some timeline with you all.

Good Luck.

PS: Except for the weather, I love it here. It is just too cold here

Hi class0f2013,

Can you tell us about your interview experience? Do u have any tips for us?

are they still notifying for interviews…is it bad if we haven’t heard anything yet?

I just got the rejection letter in the mail.

What did it say? Was it a nice rejection or were they really mean about it?

my D got her email invite today!

Hi pk92,
can you please post your daughter’s profile. My daughter also applied and I am very anxious. She hasn’t received notification or the rejection letter.

To Lakshmi…

Dont worry if you have not been invited to HPME yet. They send out notifications through February through the end of that month. Don’t lose hope! It also is somewhat of a good sign if you haven’t received a rejection yet. I just got my email notification today, but in all honesty, there is a huge range of time in which you can get an interview.

Just got my email notification for an interview today! Haha, now I have to work some way out to drive / fly myself there…

Anybody have any personal experience about how it goes? I’ve heard that the most important thing is just that you convey your intent towards medicine.

Those who’ve gotten invites, wound you mind posting basic stats (gpa, SAT, APs/scores)?

Thanks Crapn’Crunch! I will keep my fingers crossed.

Jc40, I won’t. But I had decent ACT scores, a decent GPA(not straight A’s, but Jr and sr Year have been near perfect), solid EC’s/Med EC’s, and I guess good essays. It’s a holistic approach. Not to say I wasn’t qualified for an interview, but I wasnt the 2400/4.0 student. But I wouldnt discount myself because of that because I went to a VERY challenging midwest private.

so how many people have gotten interviews so far?
when will they stop sending them out?

and Kallisto, i’m sorry it’s a long shot for most of us, anyway.

Got the interview.

Stats:

SAT: 2400/2400
GPA: 4.0/4.0
SAT II: Chem 800 Math 2C 800 Bio 790
AP: AP Chem 5, AP Bio 5, AP Calc BC 5, AP Spanish 5, AP US History 5, AP English 5

ditto on scores as above for my D as well!
