If I get about a 2300 SAT with 800/780 Sat 2 subject Math and Chem with straight As the next 2 years. I will take 6 APs next year. Do I have a good chance?

Can I say, for everything that is holy, alls y’alls are super super qualified. Like, do-you-have-a-social-life qualified (I’m joking, but seriously, make sure you have time for your friends and family). Nobody on CC knows how or why they pick the people they do for NU HPME. There is literally no way to tell. You stand a really good chance on paper, but it will be up to your essays in the end. For real. THE ESSAYS ARE SO IMPORTANT. I am absolutely sure you’ll get an application if you test with those stats, but don’t sweat it. I did not have perfect scores and, in fact, had to retake my Chem Subject Test because my first score wasn’t high enough for HPME (I’d say anything above a 750 is quite safe, but then again, I am not the admissions team!).

I was just wondering if for the HPME form, do I just submit a request or do I also send in my official score reports to Northwestern University? Thanks!
Does getting an application mean you are academically strong enough to do the program and that the committee will therefore not worry too much about your stats the second time? Or do they still scrutinize numbers and reconsider your academic strengths (GPA, Scores…) again after you apply?
Also, does applying HPME affect the overall chances of getting into Northwestern?
Hi I’m so sorry to be bumping an old thread again but I haven’t received any word from HPME yet about an interview., and I saw that some ppl in past years would have gotten their interview offers by this time of the year already, so I’m wondering if I still have a chance…
Also, if you don’t end up with an interview offer, are you notified?
@luciagrande I received my interview invite mid to late February last year. If you haven’t received any word, it just means that they haven’t begun to or are in the process of reviewing your application. You will get an e-mail about their decision regardless of whether you end up of with an interview or not. Don’t worry though–they should be sending out notifications throughout February. Good luck!
