What fields of study do Northwestern really shine in... In that sense I mean what are they ranked top in?? I am really thinking about poli science as an undergraduate to lead me into law school. Anyone know how prestigious their law school is??

Their law school is consistently ranked around 10th-15th with one of the very best job placement/bar passing rate. I believe one of the SC judges went there.

The poli sci, while decent, isn't its best program (it's ranked like 21st in the country). The best programs are journalism, all fields in communication school, art history, economics, chemistry, material science, civil engineering, and industrial engineering/management sciences.

boo...im gonna be a poli sci/intl affairs major

According to Princeton Review, the average starting salary of a Northwestern Law School Graduate is $125,000, which is the same as Harvard's. I believe US News ranks them 10 or 11. Anyone who gets in there should be very happy.

I'm a poli sci major here, and so far I'm very pleased with the classes. The only bone I have to pick with the department is the sub-par advising, but as long as you're a go-getter and can take the initiative to go in and talk to an advisor yourself, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
