I need help deciding between Northwestern econ major or UMichigan undergrad business major. I plan on going into investment banking. Any advice???

hmm, either of these schools would be great. I think this should come down to more of whether you'd like to study finance during your undergrad or studying economics.

Either is really great for Ibank recruitment.....both have great school spirit and good football teams and party scenes, but I would say Umich(ross) has the advantage at Ibanking recruitment, but if you decide that you don't want to go into business, Nortwhestern is a better school overall, but both are great. Personally if you are set on going into Ibanking, then Umich wins because 1/3 of their business class is doing investment banking.

"then Umich wins because 1/3 of their business class is doing investment banking."
not really an advantage, you are competing against more people for that job. both are great schools, pick based on fit.

1/3 of the class is going into Ibanking and something like half of finance majors end up going into Ibanking. If you realize what it means then you understand how amazing Umich is when it comes to getting their financec majors into investment banks. 50% ish of finance majors end up going into investment banking and 1/3 out of the entire business school. Northwestern is a feeder too, but Umich is beastly.
