Will we get an email about the decision date?
My goal school. Hi everyone!
I’m so worried. Northwestern is my dream school, but with my stats and the fact that half the class is already admitted makes me know I wont get in.
@ak9800 Don’t worry. You may need to distract yourself until decisions come out so you can enjoy your senior year.
Thanks ARIVERA1
If anybody could shed some light on what they think my chances might be I would greatly appreciate it!

You have a solid chance, but we all need to remember that much of this will be luck. My fingers crossed for you and for everyone here.
Thank you! I appreciate hearing that. Does anyone think that this year is especially hard? Many of my friends didn’t get in to their first choice even though they were well within the Naviance graphs’ accepted ranges and the school’s student profiles.
In previous years at this point there have usually been 4-5 kids into ivies or ivy caliber colleges from my school, but there haven’t been any so far, just a lot of deferrals. I’ve heard of a number of kids being rejected from colleges that I was positive they would get into. So yes, I would think so.
https://admissionsintel.com/northwestern-ed-acceptance-rate-now-26-percent/
ED admission rate dropped from roughly 1/3 accepted to 1/4. They still intend to fill half the class through ED, so this might indicate a tougher year. Could just be speculating though, and RD Apps may have stayed the same.
hey guys
Does a 1500 SAT hurt my chances?
Will the result for deferred students come out at the same time as the RD students? On the deferred letter it says result will come out in early April, but I know is late March for the RD students…
If a student lives near NU (where there certainly is an active alumni network available to interview applicants) – and didn’t receive an invitation to schedule an interview – is that a bad sign?
What does ISP stand for? And did everyone receive that email?
@alizarin ISP stands for Integrated Science Program. I don’t think the email was sent selectively, but I am not sure. My guess is that it was sent to all those interested in studying science.
I did not.
I got the email, but I definitely did not apply for a STEM major.
Thanks! I just asked my daughter and she got the email. She is not a science major…she’s economics. So maybe lots of people got it. But Econ is in the school of arts and sciences.
I think all applicants in the “Arts and Science” school got it. On the ISP application, they ask you to rate your interest level in all science subjects. Economics, business, anthropology, etc. are all options. So, yes, they are considered science.
I applied for the Neuroscience major and did not receive the ISP email.
