Northwestern transfer credits?

How does Northwestern transfer credits from schools that are on semester based schedules? Is it possible to graduate on time (4 years total), or will I need to stay for extra quarters?
Thank you.

My daughter got her final transcript evaluation and “met” over the phone with her adviser last week. She is transferring from a university on a semester schedule. Each course she took transferred as one unit. Northwestern requires students, at least in Weinberg, to have 45 units to graduate. If you take four classes per quarter, over four years, you will accumulate 48 units. She transferred in with one year of coursework at her previous university with 12 units which gives her sophomore status. Her adviser reassured her that she can graduate on time. Whether one can graduate on time without doing a summer quarter or extra quarters probably depends on your major, the requirements in your college, and sequence of courses. For example, she has to take a specific course her first quarter that is already closes. However, when she emailed the department, they responded immediately telling her she would be given permission to take the course this fall as they save spots for transfers. Hope this helps.
