By “U of M” do you mean UMich? If so, our daughters might still end up in the same school. I’m quite sure DD would enjoy knowing the Mayor of Evanston’s girlfriend, in spite of his purple tights. ;-D

Btw, DD is reserved in her personal life but is a fierce belter on stage. Go figure!

The good news is she’s totally focused on auditions this week, so there’s very little time to think about ED. And I think she plans to finish a couple more applications this weekend, so hopefully she’ll keep distracted.

Yes, I do mean U of Michigan! Small world! We live in Zeeland MI, where are you from?
Has anyone other than IBkid2011 called to see if the CSS had been processed or has anyone recieved word that they are processing it? I am tempted to call like you did IBkid2011,but am afraid of the response!!!

Do you guys think I have a decent shot and NU RD for a major in economics or finance?
Quick Stats:
2130 SAT (1480/1600) - might retake in January hoping 2200+ (do they accept?), ok SAT II scores (790, 660, 650), top 10%, 3.9 weighted gpa, 8 aps (2 4’s, 2 5’s), one team captain, decent ec’s, good recs, 150+ vol hours.

Also, from CT and originally from Pakistan (not a cit but legal resident).

Sorry if this is the wrong place, I just didn’t want to make a whole thread on this and people in this thread can probably offer valid insight.

On topic: good luck to those who applied ED. :)

hahahaha crafty of you! hahaha ya you seem good. Your gpa unweighted is what though? Thats the only thing that has me worried since most weighted gpas are over 4.0

also, I officially can’t stop checking my email.

hey everyone! im new to posting to this thread, but I too applied to NU ED. does anyone know when we should actually find out? a little bit before the 15th, i’ve heard. so monday or tuesday of next week?

sigh. I feel like im getting mixed messages.
Today i called UG admissions to ask whther or not they changed me from WCAS to SESP (i was just doing this to test them) because I submitted a request to swap schools while apps were being processed.
Reply from woman on phone: “Yes, Yes we switched it alright!” (Enthusiasm because an “acceptance” is stamped on my app???)

I talked to her briefly about FA and CSS and she told me not to be alarmed about my CSS not being processed. She told me to try again on Thursday and Friday. If they tell me no on Friday - then I’ll make other plans.

I wish I could walk into admissions with a copy of this thread and say, “Look how much these kids want to go to Northwestern”, and get you all accepted!!!

If I thought it wouldn’t just scare them david, I swear I’d do it!!! I feel so strong for all you kids! This isn’t just any kids wanting to get into any colleges, this is life changing. My other kid is a freshman in college, and for him it was just “whatever”. For my daughter, Evanston is where she belongs, and I think you guys too. I’m holding my breathe for all of you!!!

Is there a chance that we’re going to hear after the 15th? Northwestern never actually says the 15th, they just say “mid-december”. And with such an increase in applicants, it could be a possibility?

So close yet so far. Longest 8 days of my life coming up. Great luck to everyone. This thread has been my companion on coping with the stress of the last 5 weeks along with another ED applicant from my school. Prepared for the worst, hoping for the best.

I never got an email today from them… thank you for the disappointment… I love love love getting emails from Northwestern… It gets me so excited!! Hey adav18… Could be 2 days!! You never know! :)

Whew, you scared me there a little Grace! I guess I have to accept the possiblility that a no could be coming. But just thinking, “Oh no! We didn’t get that email”, put a huge lump in my throat. I suppose actually a no is more likely than a yes, given the percentage they accept. Has anyone ever heard, do a lot of kids who just don’t qualify waste their time and money applying, or are you all pretty much up against the best and the brightest? I wish I knew a couple months ago what I know now! We would have done the overnnight visit, the individual school tour, and the SAT subject tests. Argh.
