To be fair, I could care less now if I get rejected by Northwestern. Thank heavens I got into Vanderbilt and Emory.
@transferguy163 why so? i know for other schools w/ rolling admission they kind of whittle down the applicant pool and accept much more at the end. to be fair idk about nu though
I think we are in the same situation. I submitted my app on 01/31 and all materials are received on 02/16. So I think they just reviewed the app in random order, which is quite frustrating for me…
@KgBruce02 I think we are in the same boat. I don’t know, i think my situation is kinda like being placed in waitlist but they just didn’t tell me? Maybe they would like to see how many people choose to enroll and then decide whether to accept me or not. I could be wrong, it just a clueless guess.
@deliciousSteak I think they just didn’t come up the decision for our app at this time…now I only want to get notified and don’t really care about whether to be accepted and thinking about paying the deposit for other schools lol
I got into Georgetown and Rice so I’m not too worried that I didn’t hear back yet, though getting in would be nice
I got my decision yesterday and they received most of my materials around 3/13 and one of my materials a around 4/14 so yeah, definitely random order.
@airportlover where did you hear this? I am still waiting to hear back and am so incredibly anxious! Hope you are right
Ok so going through last years forum it seems like there were much more acceptances in the final waves then there were rejections. Anyone else get notice the same?
rip
TBH, I really just want an update at this point so that I can make arrangement for next semester.
i havent heard it about northwestern but i also applied to cornell and it makes sense that more acceptances come in the later weeks—they whittle down the applicant pool, cutting out those who they know won’t be accepted and whittling down the applicant pool so they don’t over admit. b/c if they accepted everyone in the beginning weeks then nobody from the later weeks would even have a sho no matter how good they are
just seems like a lot more people have been accepted already compared to last year
could it be because they possibly have more open seats? or do u think they are just filling them earlier?
@avocadough i’m assuming this year isn’t less selective and that they are just accepting people earlier rather than later, which is why I think those who haven’t heard by now have a lower chance
Could be, though it is impossible to say objectively since obviously not everyone who applies posts their decision on here lol
many people who get rejection don’t share their decision on here. they just never come back to this forum
@juntao99 Agree. i think the first wave rejected many people
is there anything for accepted students? FB group ?
There doesn’t seem to be a fb group from what I’ve seen.
