OO never mind, it says we have 3 weeks from our acceptance letter to confirm!
For those who are still waiting for decisions, how’s your GPA? mine is 3.93. I’m really hoping the next wave will be more acceptances than rejections lol.
@deliciousSteak Ah I hope so too… Do we know when the next wave will come out? I’m getting so anxious and I’m tired of waiting :(( My GPA is a 3.7 but my school is known for grade deflation so I’m hoping they will take that into account?
@avocadough It should be next Wednesday in general…I think the reason why we haven’t heard back is that our decisions might be kinda tough for them to decide? Maybe they are still considering our files. I’ve submitted my application almost five months lol.
Hope both of us will get in!!!
ACCEPTED! (Incoming sophomore)
Economics at Weinberg
College GPA: 3.96
Current School: Top 50 school
HS GPA: 3.6 UW
ACT: 32
ECs: part time job in the business school, won case competitions, student government, research, etc
Hooks: None, I’m Asian
@deliciousSteak Ohhh that makes sense… I guess I’ll just have to twiddle my thumbs for another week then Transfer admissions can be so draining!
My fingers are crossed for both of us. You seem like you really deserve to get in!!!
@deliciousSteak man we are still on the same boat…I agree with you and I think if it’s hard for them to make a decision, then they might put me on the waitlist. This is just my guess but it’s according to the result of my other apps
@KgBruce02 Do you know what the likelihood of getting off the waitlist as a transfer applicant is?
Has anyone from Bienen, Communications or Medill heard anything? Seems like a lot of Weinberg and McCormick
@KgBruce02 Best luck!!! BTW which school are you applying to? I’m applying for McCormick.
@avocadough well it depends on how many admitted students pay their deposits but I don’t think there is a big chance cuz the number of transfer students is small. I guess there are around 140 transfer students per year for the northwestern based on official transfer students fb group…
I was accepted to the School of Communications today
@KgBruce02 Ahh that’s the answer I was scared of My fingers are crossed for an acceptance but I feel like a waitlist is way more likely for me :((
Got accepted to Medill at 4:15 today!!! 4.0 as a journalism major at state school known for journalism. 30 ACT. HS GPA:3.7W
Essay about an editorial I wrote as Co-editor of my student paper that got recognized by Columbia Journalism Review and Denver Post and then got my school vandalized. Tailored that one to Medill as well as Why Northwestern, of course. Letters of rec by one professor, my high school newspaper adviser, and the Editorials editor of the Denver Post.
Staff writer on college paper, public relations internship, Eagle Scout, and a few other small ECs.
@avocadough I checked previous years’ thread, and I found that nu usually didn’t give waitlist.
For those who got accepted but won’t be attending for sure – let’s decline the offer as quickly as possible so that more spots can open up for those who are still waiting!
@deliciousSteak ah okay do we have any idea of how many more acceptances they are going to send out?
@deliciousSteak @avocadough I applied with a pretty poor GPA and test score without much hope of an acceptance and I haven’t heard back either it seems really random
@ghtransfer Hmm yeah maybe there is no correlation. They could be looking at applications alphabetically by middle name for all we know lol. I guess I shouldn’t lose hope until I see a “we regret to inform you”…
