did everyone get an email verifying that their application was complete?
@ineedtogetinm8 Yes, I got one yesterday! It seems like it takes them a while to process everything so I wouldn’t worry if yours isn’t complete yet
I guess I’ll add my stats too. I’m pretty nervous, I applied last year and was accepted into the education program but sadly declined due to financial reasons. Reapplying hopefully to go this time, it is my dream school! Finances aren’t as problematic anymore!
Current College: a community college in Chicago suburbs
Current GPA: 4.0
Major: Psychology Minor: Sociology
HS GPA: 3.98 / 4.0
Class Rank: 7/619
ACT: 29 (not the best I could’ve done)
AP: 12 tests taken and all were passing scores.
Extracurriculars: Performed in plays all four years of high school. Also did the bowling team for all 4 years and during college. Competed at a state level in competitive drama, bowling, and a business club (DECA).
Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we all hear back in the next week or so
Did anyone get a decision today?
No decision yet. You are all freaking me out! A lot of you seem very suited to the “Northwestern standard.”
Having said that, college is not all about your GPA and ACT score, especially if your ACT score is a reflection of yourself 3-4 years ago. Writing and letters of rec can really advocate to who you are as a person and student. Keep your heads high everyone!
Just so everyone is aware- NU reported to a College Board survey that they will be releasing decisions as late as July 1. Hearing back before the end of this semester may be wishful thinking… Good luck to everyone!
@avocadough thanks was a bit worried.
From last year’s thread, it appears that people received a decision (at the earliest) a month from the date they were notified of the completion of their application.
It looked like the first decisions last year came out on the second Wednesday of the month; the year before, they came out on the first Wednesday. Did anyone do the Coalition App by chance?
Current College: New York University
GPA: 3.85
Mid-term grades: 3.925
Major: Journalism
I got an email saying my application was complete on March 13 so I feel like my decision should be coming soon. Honestly wasn’t too anxious but this forum is making me super nervous.
Yeah, mine said complete on 2/27, I wouldn’t expect to hear back so soon though. I pretty much don’t expect to hear back until around May or June.
I have already been accepted into two other schools but Northwestern is my top choice. But if they don’t send me something soon ill have to commit to another school before hearing anything… Cant risk losing other scholarships
Transfering to McCormick for Industrial Engineering
Current University: top 15 engineering college
College GPA: 3.83
ACT: 30
High school GPA: 3.83 (Unweighted)
ECs:
Part of the autonomous car term where is worked as a software engineering and worked on various machine learning and computer vision problems
Economics Undergraduate research (I was in charge of data collection and deriving monthly insights relevant to the project from this data)
Financial Technologies club: Implemented and developed various trading algorithms backtesting them with historical data
mathematics instructor for underprivileged kids
Trinity grade 4 guitarist
intramural soccer
Reason for transferring is a lack of a financial engineering research focus in my uni along with rigidity in pursuing out of major courses.
All the best to everyone.
Hey everyone, I looked through previous years threads and it seems that decisions for Northwestern start rolling out in the 3rd or 4th week of April.
My best guess is April 11
If notifications start coming out the 11th I’ll lose it. My application’s been officially complete for about a month so maybe it’ll be reviewed soon?? Ahhhhhh
As I’ve learned from applying to other places decisions are usually not handed out based on when you submit your application. I have a friend that attends NU right now and his opinion is probably Late April-Early May. It is typical for transfer applications to be reviewed for 6-8 weeks
From I heard from a previous AO, the first wave of decisions is to eliminate the candidates who are either apparently unqualified (GPA<3.5 for instance) or substantially qualified.
People said the exact same thing last year. And the first wave came out April 12. It even came out on April 6 the year before.
Are we expecting the first wave to come out on Wednesday?
Does anyone know if transfer students are offered financial aid?
