I just visited the college I’ll be attending and I had a great time but overall I’m not incredibly enthusiastic about attending the college. It’s very well-known and I’m a big fan of specific programs but I’m just not feeling excited to go there. Is this normal?
Just about every kind of emotion you can imagine it normal when it comes to making a big life transition, and going to college is included. You have just come off the whole admissions season and now you have made a decision. It is perfectly normal to question that decision, maybe even second guess giving up other options in the process. It is also a bit scary to be facing the reality of making the actual move from high school to college now. One thing you can do is look forward, use positive self talk about your choice, and dig into all of the decisions and preparations that you need to do to get there in August/September. Also, enjoy the rest of your senior year and graduation. Congratulations.
