God damn I'm so sad I want to do engineering so bad but I wasn't accepted to their program. Is there any possible way I can do engineering? I really want to do engineering and so do my parents and this just sucks balls. There has to be some other way I can do engineering please help me

are you int’l? did you apply only to VTech?

Yes I’m already going to Virginia Tech and I’m at this STEP program thing that decides if I go or not and I’m pretty sure I’m going to get declined so I don’t know what I can do.

I don’t see anywhere that VT is using STEP to accept / deny students to engineering programs.

That is the STEP program. We’re at a 5 week thing and we need to get B’s or above in Chemistry, Math, and an Engineering class or else we won’t get into the engineering program. See I thought the same as you so I completely bombed the first two weeks. We then we had a group meeting with the TAs/counselors talking about how people were slacking off and that we are in this program to get accepted into the school of engineering, not to relax. Right now I can easily get 100s for the following weeks but I don’t think it’ll give me a B especially in my chemistry class. B- don’t count

Do a search on transferring into the college of engineering from another major at VT. The information is available. Read up on the requirements and policies. Review the suggested path to transfer into engineering. Attend an information session on changing your major to engineering.

Go to your TA / counselor and explain what happened, and ask what you can do to make up for it. Do those things. Go to your professors and explain what happened, and ask what you can do to make up for it. Do those things, too.

If those things don’t work, follow the suggested path to transfer into the college of engineering.

Alright thank you so much, I’ll try what you guys said
