I learned that because the yield rates are rising so quickly at OSU they are accepting fewer and fewer students for main campus - but - there is always a “side door” to get in. OSU has many (Lima, Mansfield, Marion) branch campuses with open admissions that allow you to transfer down to main campus once you’ve earned some credits. If you really want to be a buckeye, there is always a way. My daughter started at Marion Technical College which shares its campus with OSU Marion, moved on to OSU Marion, (which has the first two years of engineering classes) was eventually accepted into Biomedical Engineering Program main campus Columbus (graduating this semester) and was offered and accepted into Mechanical Engineering Masters program which she will start this fall. BTW the professors in Marion are amazing and the classes are small so you get to know the faculty well which comes in handy for reference letters.
