I'm taking AP European History this summer (online) and I'm 35% done with the course and I hate it.

Nearly every assignment is an essay (most of which on material we haven't covered 100+ years in the future) or a 5 page book report (I'm sick of these).

I'm getting a B and every assignment's comments begin with "Well done. You got a B."

I have a 4.00 going into my senior year so this is very frustrating.

Would it be okay if I didn't take the second semester? Would that look bad to colleges?

I'm taking 4 other APs including World History (similar?).

It wouldn’t be that bad, but they’d want to know why. When applying, it would be best to phrase it as you were uninterested in the subject or that you were interested in the information, but the class itself was difficult/tedious/bothersome

Online classes can really suck. I took a foreign language course online last year and also only got halfway through because they pounce on every little mistake and I really wasn’t learning much. Just explain that European history just wasn’t for you or how the online course was really bad. DON’T use the bad grades you were getting as your reason- it’ll make it seem like you only choose classes you are sure to do well in (aka you don’t challenge yourself enough). But with four other APs, they won’t read much into whatever you do as long as you give a good reason for dropping out.

By the way, world history is totally different from Euro because they cover more information. This can be good because you aren’t expected to know as much specific stuff because of the breadth that is covered. I think AP World is easier than say APUSH or AP Euro.
