Not getting respond on updates- rejected?

I recently send some updates on courses and awards to Yale, but I didn't get any replies. Do they usually reply applicants' updates or should I assume that I am already in the rejected pile?

UChicago says that they’ll only respond if you’re missing something. With all of the applications and financial aid stuff to handle, I’m sure Yale’s the same way. Their offices are so busy right now…the only updates I’ve received from my colleges is that they had been missing my transcript for 1st semester…

so don’t worry! :)

Statistically you know that about 93% will eventually be rejected – but the lack of replies to your updates isn’t necessarily an indication of anything either way. Why should it? What will happen will happen. No real need to try to squeeze any indication out of every fact/circumstance. Let it go and hope for the best while preparing for the worst.
Good luck to you

If half of Yale’s applicants sent some kind of e-mail, and responding to it appropriately took 15 seconds apiece, you would need 8 people to spend a full working day doing nothing but responding to them. Right now, the Yale admissions staff doesn’t have 8 people to spare for a day (or one person to spare for a week and a half) to respond to e-mails they didn’t solicit. They are working really hard to choose their class, and focusing on whatever they think is important for that effort. I’m not certain they would even promise to read unsolicited e-mails at this point, although they probably do.
