I am only waiting on two more schools and they are both schools i would seriously consider attending, I am surprised that i have heard NOTHING, not even a single email. Do their things come through fed ex or usps? Anyone in NY get anything yet, rejection or acceptance? What are their average sat scores? any one know? Oh well.........I know there is nothing I can do about it now, but sit and wait. any news you want to share would be great!!

god i know exactly how you feel, i haven't heard a word from them, but i definitely know its not the new york thing that's keeping the letters back, a friend of mine applied there and recieved her accpetance letter almost two weeks ago and she applied RD. I'm nervous as hell, especially considering i was just rejected from fordham today (i'm upset, but it's not my number one, USD is) let me know if you hear anything, what are you stats and is USD #1 for you too?

guys its march 31st and still NOTHING! What the heck does that mean? don't know why i am so curious my parents already announced they will not pay for school in california but who likes rejection? Anyone else in the same boat? I am in NY. Would love to hear if anyone else has had this happen to them, NOTHING AT ALL.

I spoke with a college counselor today who says that she doesn't know of anyone who has heard anything yet!

today i got a letter of rejection of rejection from UC san diego and NEVER APPLIED! How wierd is that? Does USD send emails, or just snail mail? I know some people have heard, I hate this waiting!!

I heard a few weeks ago, but live I in southern california. Who knows how colleges do things, they are a mystery to me. I just got rejected from my first choice today, so off to USD I go next year.

I live in the bay area and haven't gotten anything, I don't know what's taking them so long but it's ridiculous!

I heard at the beginning of March, but I live in SoCal and most of my friends just heard within the last few days. Keep up the good spirits, as I doubt it means anything.

I contacted the admissions office and was told that no decision has been made yet for my daughter. She also stated that this is not an indication of bad news, just that the assigned counselors are continuing to review the apps in the order they were received by each of them. That is the reason for the seeming randomness of the notifications. The apps are assigned according to state and zip code and some reps have more apps than others. She stated that the remaining apps should be reveiwed in the next two weeks. Since most schools need a decision by May 1st, they sure don't leave a whole lot of time for contemplation by the students!

I called today and was told my application is in committee and no decision has been made. This is very strange considering the common app was submitted on 01/03 and all supporting material since late January. I am from Massachusetts. The prior email said the Admissions Office said it depends upon the admissions rep for the region. I agree mid-April is late in the game to send decisions.

Any other New England or Northeastern state applicants still awaiting word? Or if you did get a decision what was it and when did you get it?

I am from new york and still haven't heard, it's definitely not becuase of the region though, i know someone else from my school that applied there and they heard from admissions three weeks ago despite them sending in their app like a month after i sent mine. I just have a feeling that the fact that i haven't heard by now is bad, i guess ot means i probably didn't get in

i'm from san diego and i just got an acceptance letter today plus i got a scholarship, so it doesn't necessarily mean bad news if you hear back later. good luck

any scholarships or grants either need or merit based?

Hi Mike, First I hope you hear one way or another soon. My daughter applied EA...her stats were higher than yours, with similar ECs. She was accepted but received no merit aid. She got a $9600 USD grant (need based), and a note from finaid saying they hoped she would consider becoming an RA after her freshman year. She loves the school...and will be visiting on the 20th of April. I will say, we have heard of other students with similar stats who did receive merit aid...so honestly I don't really know.

My son was accepted today. He applied RD in early Dec. His stat's were a good match, but I must admit the slow response made me think dark thoughts re: his chances.

has anyone who has not heard called the admissions office lately and asked them what the deal is?

i called admissions again today. they still have not reviewed my application-it is in committee...i asked them if they have an internal deadline to get decision out...response was as soon as they can...he said they had 10000 application this year that's why there is a delay...

10000 application>>

Wow...glad my DD applied EA. But I now understand why she got no merit aid. I wonder how many of those 10,000 have USD as their first choice.

its def not my first choice i just want to hear!! its the last school I have to hear from
