Ok, so in may I got the following scores:

Critical Reading 660
Math 630
Writing 740

They were pretty good, but since I'm applying to the University of Texas, I figured I better break the 1300s between the first 2 sections. So here's what I get in December

Critical Reading 670
Math 610
Writing 800

My first reaction: Not what I wnated at all. While I'm please to see that 800 as a testament to my writing skill, I'm more worried than ever about my admissions chances to Texas. This 2080 is 50 points higher than my 2030 in March, but I'm afraid that all Texas will see is the 1280. Texas A&M will now automatically admit me since they mix and match scores, and Baylor will now give me an extra $1000 FA for reaching this new plateau, but my target school, UT, may reject me now. 66% of all UT students are top 10%; I'm 2nd decile albeit at a competitive private school. The average UT SAT scorew between the first 2 sections in 1230. Based solely on that class rank/SAT score combo, Im afraid Im facing a deferral, but do you think that if I play up my 5 on the AP English Language test and my 800 writing score that I can get into their school of journalism at least?
