Not taking AP English bad?

Hey guys, I’m having a bit of dilemma over what courses I should be taking next year.
Currently I am in English 10 Honors, which for me is very time consuming since I am also taking two other honors and an AP class. I barely got an A- (89.51, teacher rounds up) first semester in English, and I have the option to drop to CP English 10 second semester. If I do that, I would not be able to take APENG in 11th to 12th grade though. I am planning on majoring in nursing, so I don’t think not taking APENG would be such a big deal. Also, would dropping from an honors to a CP class be detrimental to my college apps even if I got an A in the english class first semester?

Current Courseload:
English 10 (H) <------------- thinking about dropping to CP second semester
Precalculus (H)
Chemistry (H)
French 2
PE
AP Computer Science
Show Choir

Next Year:
CP English 11
AP Calculus BC
AP Chemsitry
US History (H)
French 3
Show Choir

English is not crucial to nursing at all. I wouldn’t worry about it!

My oldest got into Harvard taking Honors English in 11th grade and an English elective in 12th. AP English Lit and AP English Lang were both offered. I think you’ll be fine.

I really think you should keep the english course no matter how difficult it is. Its important no matter what to always be constantly taking an english class throughout your entire high school career. So yes but personally i think it would be bad.

I hope this comment was made facetiously, as English is very important to nursing, at least in English speaking countries.

@sherpa You could say that about most majors… Obviously english is important, but AP english is not crucial to nursing at all. Nursing students shouldn’t need to know how to analyze great books for example.
