Notification Dates & Application Status Portals

Does anyone know or is there a list of notification timeframes by school and which ones have application status portals that provide meaningful information? The notification dates and procedures they post on their websites don’t seem to be how they actually do it. I’m so confused…

If you look in the MT forum they have a list of schools and notification dates etc…I would assume the straight acting BFA’s would coincide with the MT dates…

USC admissions website says decisions will be mailed out Mar 24 and portals updated Mar 27 @ noon PST. Good luck to all! Thank you for the info @kate2019

@bisouu Thank you for the suggestion. The MT crew is very organized.

Rutgers’ portal beginning to show status changes. Only know about an acceptance.

Anyone know about Pepperdine? It’s a BA in theater and music so not exactly on the MT radar

Does anyone know of the expected notification dates for this year’s crop of auditioned candidates to schools without rolling admissions?

I found this list for academic notification dates on another thread - can we assume our kids find out on the same date? - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1953197-admissions-notification-dates-2017.html#latest

I don’t want to call every school my daughter auditioned for if I can find out another way. I think that knowing the dates she will learn decisions will help calm nerves between those dates.

Thanks for any help!

To get the list started, I’ll alphabetically list the schools my daughter is waiting to hear from -

Boston University
Butler University (auditioned BA)
Carnegie Mellon University
Emerson College
Rutgers University
Syracuse University
University of Michigan

@LuvsLabs - I know the waiting is the hardest part of all (I genuinely went nearly CRAZY my D’s year) but I would NOT recommend calling schools at all. Some schools are very clear about when they notify - others less so - and that is their right.
here are ones I know from the past - mostly based on when my kid/her friends were notified:
Emerson/Michigan were early - around 1st week in March in 2014. (my kid did not apply to either - so dates are less clear in my mind - although I know she had friends who had heard from them before she had heard from most of her schools - Emerson might even have been last week in Feb)
CMU was 3rd week in march- they are one who does phone calls if you don’t get one (and you will hear about people getting them here on CC and/or on FB if you kid is in one of those BFA groups) the letter comes a few days later.
Boston/Syracuse was the last week in March for my kid, Syracuse does this weird thing where they release “waves” on fridays throughout March. My D was the 3rd (and last) friday that year.

This all sounds right, except I don’t think CMU did calls last year.

@Jkellynh17 - now that you say that I remember that about CMU… just goes to show how things change year to year.

Thanks. I had a feeling it didn’t necessarily correspond to the dates kids going for non-BFA degrees will be notified.

(I had a feeling the schools would not be thrilled by a parent calling - imagine if we all called!)

Just found this on Rutgers website - “Admissions decisions will be released on a rolling basis, but all students will receive a decision or an invitation to callback weekend no later than February 17. It is possible for students who auditioned on the same day to receive a decision or invitation on different days. We do our best to issue decisions or invitations as soon as possible.”
