@phoenixmomof2 Please ask your daughter to let you read the email. It was very sincerely written. They didn’t directly state that they weren’t going to the waitlist, but it is implied in that they have exceeded their freshman class size. The letter went on to say that in a recent year they accepted 85% of previously waitlisted candidates who applied for transfer. It seems that if our kids are truly passionate about attending ND and if it is in God’s plan, it will work out.
Best of luck to all of you!!
@friendlynerd888 Best of luck! I’m sure you will do great things!
It’s not in DD’s plan… she’s now so excited to attend the University of Richmond. Perhaps my DS will be ND class of 2021.
Best of luck to your DD (and your son) @phoenixmomof2 ! Exciting times ahead!
Just a quick question…how is it that out of 800 students on the wait list you two were the only students to find out this information?
^ … a lot don’t post on CC
Ok so which one is it? Notification by email to two chosen ones or via correspondence? How about this …if you don’t know any facts DO NOT POST ANY THING. It is not fair to the people who unfortunately read and believe your “I’m guessing” comments. If you don’t have the facts don’t say anything.
@phtown I’m not sure if you are the student or the parent… but just a couple of questiions for you to ponder that may clarify matters:
-Did you (or your student) agree to remain on the waitlist?
-Did you (or your student) express an interest in transferring at a later date?
- Have you (or your student) checked email (and possibly your spam folder) Thursday evening)?
If none of the above apply to you, perhaps you are still in the running for a spot. My student received an email indicating that he cannot be offered a spot, but perhaps a transfer is likely next year.
Best of luck to your family!
I wouldn’t know. I’ve been in since December.
I’m just saying that, in general, not many of the 800 would even use CC.
I got the email too and it said no one is getting off this year so it’s time to move on. No ones trying to screw with you @phtown
You were saying…? @phtown
Has anyone received a letter by snail mail? I’m curious if they are sending this letter by US mail in addition to the email.
@Falcons789 @FriendlyNerd888 and others, did your letter go into detail about the transfer process?
@skipper26 - The letter talked about the transfer process… I’m not sure I’d call it in detail. But did mention reaching out to our area rep regarding transfer. The letter was 3 - 4 paragraphs. It’s in my DD’s email or I would send you a copy.
Thanks @phoenixmomof2 That sounds like the same email.
Has anyone received notification about the waitlist by US mail?
They might not be sending anything out by snail mail if they already sent out the email
Does anyone know if they let anyone off the wait list at all?
If any of you are interested, you could try to get into Saint Mary’s College which is an all girls school which is across the street from ND. You can attend classes at ND and all their activities too. The girls at ND have the best of both worlds. I think they still have some spots open - but not sure. Good luck!!
@liketofence I tend to agree that the email notifications seem to have replaced snail mail. I was just curious becaus email notifications on decisions are new. I’d also echo @bball224’s question has anyone heard if anyone got off the waitlist? The letter implied that no one had, but I don’t think they said that outright.
