I know my rank is weak due to the poor freshman and sophmore years, but I am wondering what my chances are at Notre Dame. I also plan on retaking the SAT (the old one) to try to improve my math and reading sections. I’m currently taking AP Calculus and AP Biology in my senior year which might explain the low SAT II scores.
Is your legacy a parent? You are at the bottom of the middle 50%, I mean at the bottom so your chances are well below the average. Still possible but a 1 in 10 chance is not a good chance.
There’s no reason to feel down about your chances. Your SAT scores are not bad at all. Although your unweighted GPA might be low, your rank seems good (top 5%). Did you apply REA or RD? The legacy might help if you’re talking about parents or grandparents. Best of luck!
Legacy only applies if your parents attended. Grandparents don’t count. Unless your scores increase pretty substantially and your essays are top notch, ND is a pretty high reach.
