Notre Dame Leadership Seminars 2015

@woandering where are you from?

@homealone16‌
I’d prefer to keep my background private.

I chose to apply for research internships and some have stated that if I leave school in early June I might be able to get a small break to attend such a program. I also am going to apply to 1 other week long business seminar type program

With that stated, what other business programs are there? Most of my experience has laid in the field of medicine and research but I have found my passions wandering to other fields.

@Woandering, yes my child had a summer job. Most places will let you take time off for programs, family vacations, etc.

Did anyone else put anything for additional comments?

@gigglebot3‌ I hadn’t taken the SAT or any subject tests, so I mentioned when I plan to take them. I’ve only taken the PSAT.

Does my son have a chance at this program. He is Jewish with 2240 on SAT in October, 207 on PSAT, an Eagle Scout and 800 on Math 2 SAT subject test and 760 on the US hx SAT subject test. He is generally interested in the Global leadership track and I think being Jewish would make him an interesting participant in discussions. Does anyone know if being Jewish would rule him out at a Catholic University. Does anyone know if other Jewish students have been accepted in the past. He is also applying to other competitive free summer programs as we know this is competitive to give him a chance of being accepted to something this summer. We are not interested in spending 6000 plus on what I consider to be money maker programs for colleges .

oops meant to say genuinely interested

@momof2eagles‌
Being Jewish won’t rule him out. Only half the kids last year seemed to be Catholic. I know some who were Mormon, maybe a Jew, but I can’t be sure…

Thanks. he is from the Northeast so maybe that will help too

I’m an atheist and from the northeast, and still applying so hopefully religion doesn’t matter

@Woandering‌ ^precisely, I wrote 294 words!

Last minute essay writer here. The extremely short length of the essay makes me wonder what acceptances really hinge on. How can the admissions committee understand your ability and writing in so few words? I heard diversity plays a major role in selection, is this true?

@Swinter‌
Short essays are also an art form. Anyway, I think the main purpose of the essays is to see how much you’ve thought about the topics and what type of person you are rather than your writing ability. This is more of a social sciences program rather than humanities, no?

Can the letter be sent after I submit? i’m waiting on my 2nd rec, she said she’d have it done by today and I don’t want to exclude her but i want to submit before i fall asleep…

Hey @gigglebot3‌ , I think you can! Can anyone please explain me why my TOEFL scores are awaiting while my standardized tests scores are received? I only sent in TOEFL and two SATs!

Emded up not applying

Good luck everyone else

Anyone know when the results come out?

In previous year’s threads it’s always been sometime in March, not sure when in March though.

So far away ahh
