November 2009- Chinese with Listening Test

I didn’t really hear question 4, that’s my prob. One single word could make all the difference. The question was either have you finished eating or have you finished talking. The answer went something like this b)Not yet, i would like to drink the soup and c)i’ve finished talking. Something like that, i’m not sure! Sorry!

I chose early morning for the telephone question cuz i assumed the conversation took place somewhere between 11 to 12pm… Sigh… They should have given a more specific time…

Sorry, but I don’t really remember that question (4)…

I don’t know, but I think they said something about something that happened at noon or something, so I assumed it was past that, so that’s why I chose early afternoon… :)

Does anyone know what you’re scaled score be (out of 800) if let’s say you got 1 wrong on the listening and 1 wrong on the reading? thanks!

I’m pretty sure question (4) was have you finished eating and the answer was no, I still have to drink my soup

Yeah, I’m pretty sure they did say something about something that happened at noon and they were anticipating something was gonna happen around 5pm (I think?) so it should be early afternoon

sorry to interrupt but would minus 4 be somewhere around a 770 or so?

Not sure but most ppl estimate that at 2 questions wrong, you can still get 800. More than 2 questions wrong… well, nobody has yet to comment on anything about that. Currently, i’m at 1 question wrong. (the time one). But yeah, 4 wrong would be about 770 if the curve is its usual decent high and not killer-high.

i just know that everything in chinese goes from big to small
so… yeah

country, city, road, then number is right

(btw), the age of the person (1995, etc.) was also in big to small (if that questions was posed).

how much does the test even matter if you’re a native speaker and taking it…?

I think it still matters somewhat, you know to show that you’re bi-or trilingual… :)

By the way, did anyone send their scores for this already? and I was wondering, if I’m sending just this subject test (my first) to 4 colleges now (I’m in grade 11), is it a good sign that I’m showing interest early? or do they only care for SAT I and not really subject tests? thanks!

bumpp…

The scores are out!!! What’s yours?
I got an 800!!! Sooo happy! Hope you guys got 800 too!!

800 :D

I’m happy.

720 Biology M and 770 Math 2

Congratulations to austrianpog and aprilchyeee!!! Are you ABC Chinese?

800 for me too, and I know I got at least one wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:
800 Math II, 790 Lit.

I got a 750 on the chinese and that is just with studying four years in highschool. Will they see that this score is a result of my hard work or will they assume I am a native speaker?

What do you mean by “ABC Chinese”? but ya, I was born there, but came to Canada when I was little. congrats to everyone who got amazing scores!!

82/85 = 800 for me I think.

I got a 770…and I’m a fluent speaker…

Well, I guess it’s because I took Chinese 4 two years ago and didn’t study…damn it!

^^american born chinese = ABC

lol
