November 2009 SAT Math (US only)

@shapiro
your grid-in was real, it just had different questions
the only other explanation is that you got a non grid-in math experimental or you got a CR experimental and just didnt realize it

@2200
Alright, that makes me feel better now. Usually -2 is ~750 like Jshapiro105 said. You’re still set for a high score. I would imagine a 700 would be 4 or 5 wrong, but I’m not positive.

the section with prime numbers was DEFINATELY NOT experimental. that was the only section i had with fill-in math questions.

I got a 760 last time and I know I have at least 1-2 wrong so far so whatever.

THIS IS SO CONFUSING.

Okay. I had two grid in sections. So I had an experimental math, correct?

One of these grid in sections contained a question about trading coins, and how it affected the ratios. Not everyone had this question. Does this mean this was the experimental section?

i had -3 in June and a 740

@wg
yea like i stated earlier, the grid in with the prime number was real

two grid-ins…one of them is definately experimental.
we might have completely different tests, but i never got one about coins

jenx, i got the same math sections as you, i had the ali question. i believe that was in section seven which is experimental. the first grid in (section 3) was real.

wg, i got the coins in the 7th experimental section, they have different questions on the experimentals

Does anyone remember the question about ab - c = 0 ?
I. ??? forgot
II. (a^2)(b^2)=(c^2)
III. (a^2)(b^2)-(c^2)=-2abc

omgosh how do you remember all of those answers and YES…the ones I had in mind I got right! =DDD YAY!

Josh, the answer was II and III. I don’t really know why 3 is correct (how to derive it) but I plugged in a bunch of numbers and everything fit.

Shapiro: III fails when a=2 b=3 c=6

(a^2)(b^2)-(c^2) = 4*9-36 = 0
-2abc = -2(2)(3)(6) = -72
0 != -72

@jshapiro, i got 2 only, 3 doesnt work

For me, the sections were:
Essay
Writing
Math (fill-in)
Math
Critical Reading
(Don’t remember but another 2 maths and a CR)
CR
CR
Writing (10q)

So I know my experimental section is math. Is there a chance that the exp section could be the one asking how many prime numbers there are between 30 and 40?
I know I didn’t give much information.

$@#$!@&$!@
Add that question to my tally.

what was the answer for the folded paper with a hole punched in it question?

ab-c=0 I got to be II only. And I don’t think your prime numbers between 30 & 40 was experimental because I had that questions and only had 3 Math sections. The answer to that was 2 right? 32 & 38.

@SAHermit, I’ll try to draw it…

o…o
…oo…
…oo…
o…o

I think it was like that, no?

Some of you are talking about two different questions that had roman numerals.
For the xy = x, choice III said that x can’t equal y, which was untrue. The answer was I and II, which was letter C.
