November 2009 SAT Math (US only)

Cardsfan: That was it.

And do you remember what the choices were? The Roman Numerals of course

Anybody have a guess as to the curve?

This is my first time taking the SAT, so I don’t know how relatively hard or easy it was. I think at this point I’ve gotten 2 wrong (ugh), but I really wanted a 750+ on math. I’ve taken 3 SAT IIs, and they’ve all been 750+, so I want my SATs to stay that way.

Ok SAT experts out there- DoleWhip and Shizzle I’m talking to you, curve predictions, please!

Is it possible for me to get an 800 or 790 if I omitted one and got everything else right? I omitted an mc one (damn you folding paper question)

What is the median of the 9 numbers? X>6
4 5 6 6 7 7 12 12 x

What about the math one with folding a paper in half and then in half again and then in half again into a triangle?

Where would the holes be?

I had no idea and said there would be 2 holes in each corner when unfolded?

o…o
…oo…
o…o

Was that a choice??

I put
oo…oo

oo…oo

^that was wrong, it had 1 in each corner and 4 in the middle

Did anyone have one about stitches?? in like knitting?

Anyone remember what the question with two parallel lines and had the answer 130 degrees looked like?

anyone remember a grid in question with point (6,0) and you had to find U in another point (t,u)?

I knew it was a 30-60-90 triangle but my answer was like 5pi or something :'(

it should be
o…o
…oo
…oo
o…o

To Cacciato

The answer was 5…the radius of the circle was 5, meaning the diameter was 10. Because the circle was transcribed in square, each side of the square was 10. In order to find the point (u was it) you could create a triangle (an angle of 30 was already given) with a hypotenuse of 10. The triangle was 30-60-90 so if the hypotenuse was 10, the side opposite the 30 degrees (the height of the triangle and thus the y coordinate/u coordinate you were looking for) was 1/2 of the hypotenuse or 5

Wasn’t it a grid-in though…how do you put 5pi?

wait, how the fudge did you get pi? There was no circle in that question?

Sorry for reposting, but I’m really curious. Is it possible for me to get an 800 or 790 if I omitted one and got everything else right? I omitted an mc one (damn you folding paper question)

ohh yea, there was a circle. i got 5. but i forgot how i got it.

Yes, Hellomynameisc. It’s likely.

Well, I wouldn’t say likely, but it’s certainly possible.

To anybody who had these math questions:

They were both relatively early in their sections…I just want to make sure I didn’t mess them up

The first involved an unfolded box with each face labeled 1-6…the side with 2 would be the top face correct?

And the second involved the chess team and math team…was the answer 11?
