November 2009 SAT Math (US only)

Yeah ironman, I think you and I had the same one. What were some problems in your second 25-minute one, I think we’ve determined that that’s probably the experimental. We can compare.

Damn. Hope that’s what I got. I either got II only or II and III, I can’t remember for the life of me. I know I plugged in numbers and got a definite answer, I just never looked back at it and now I forget.

yeah minimeigh I have the same problem except I was being really foolish and put II only even though all I had to do to find the right answer was cancel variables in teh III choice. But I did have that question. Was tht one the second 25 min section? I know another problem I had was like:

-4|2x-k| = -2|2k-mx|

x and k were variables for which all variables would work and we were supposed to find the value of m. I am pretty sure the answer was 4 which was choice E.

If these two questions (this one and the I, II, or III one) were on two diff sections do you know which one was experimental?

There was a question about a triangle that had sides 5 and 7 and they wanted you to find out what the other side CANT be. the choices were 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Ironman, the section you’re talking about isn’t the experimental one.

Okay, I have a question. I took it yesterday. I don’t know what experimental section I had. But I did not have any chess problem, any six sided box problem, anything about chess clubs. Are there different versions?

carteratlarge - the answer is 1

Yeah, there are different versions.

Thanks, Toasti. I was wondering why I didn’t have them.

ok so i think i got 1 or 2 wrong… assuming that neither were in experimental sections what would my score drop to?

around 760.

ironman, i thought the mxk and the II and III were in different 25-minute sections, and from what we’ve figured out here, the mxk question should be the one that counts.

If by II and III question you mean the number line with variables, then that can’t be it. I got both questions and a writing experimental.

Huh. I remember the last question for each of my math sections: the grid-in was u=5, the first 25-minute must be II and III? (fuzzy about this one, might not have been the last question after all), the third 25-minute section was 1/8 for x^2-y^2, and the fourth was 48 for an average speed. Did you have the 1/8 one, toasti?

I thought what minimeigh said is true but are u sure about having both questions?

i got all your questions’ same answer but didnt have the 48 for an average speed questions, so im guessing thats ur experimental.

Can’t be, that’s the last 20-minute section. Hopefully that doesn’t mean you don’t recognize that answer because it’s wrong. It was 40 mph there and 60 mph on the way back, what was the average speed for the whole trip?

I didn’t get the average speed question, but I got the x^3-y^3=1/8 question.

Not sure if this is relevant, but the last question for the grid-in was enlarging a picture from 25 cm to 36 cm; the answer was 1.2. The 30-60-90 triangle was the second to last question.

Definitely didn’t get that question mini. That has to be your experimental because know for a fact that i share your other last question answers.

oh yeahhhh that’s right, okay i had that for sure. my bad

Toasti, i had that question too and got the same answer. The u=5 wasnt the last question for the grid in.
