what? i had two CR sections back to back…are they exp or not? did i have an exp math?!

what are they doing differently this time??

Titilatingwoman: The number line question with xyzabc was not experimental. I had two 35 question writings and that math section.

Could somebody please explain the number line one and why it was 3x-2 instead of x + 2?

If I remember correctly, y was twice as far along the number line as x.If x was say, 4, then y should be 8.

3(4)-2 = 10…not 8.

I cannot remember whether or not there was a one on the number line to indicate that the intervals were in fact 1…but if that 1 was there, x+2 makes perfect sense.

I’m just really confused. If somebody could review what information you were given, and the answer, that would be great.

Also-- for people who had the dog question, we’re pretty much sure that that section wasn’t experimental, right? This means you also had the grid-ins where the answer to the last grid-in was 9, and you had a section where it asked the minimum value of f(x) = a-b(x-c)^2 if a, b and c were all positive integers.

^That is correct.

Thanks, 187. Good to know.I had an additional math section (apart from those mentioned above) and it was ridiculously hard. Phew…I think it was experimental. Anybody have a response to post #570? I’m really confused!

Ladidada: I’m sure I got your question for #570, but I can’t remember exactly what it was. It’s worrying me now because I think I put x+2. Do you remember the full question?

I had the dog question and the a+b(x-c)^2 questions and a reading experimental, not to burst anybodies bubbles.

I am pretty sure that this question has been answered, probably several times so far, so please spare me the pain of searching and tell me which was the experimental section, I did not have the dog question but rather the question with the cylinder or what not and you had to find the volume - the answer was 900, please tell me that was the E.Section :]

Thanks!

The dog section was exp (didnt have the sec with writing exp). I had the 900 answer section, but my writing was exp, so be assured that that section was legit.

Oh wow, I would have preferred the dog question over this to be honest ._.

Toasti-- I DID put x+2, and other people on the thread think it was wrong. I’m not sure of what the original question was either…so I’m waiting for somebody who does to post. For somebody who wants to know what I’m talking about-- see post #570.

And on which sections were experimental, I thought we figured out that the dog section definitely WASN’T experimental.

Do you remember what page that discussion was on?

Yeahh–page 29. Check there. Two people agree on 3x+2, and they seem to have gotten other answers right, but I am still beyond confused.

3x-2 sorry-- I mistyped there, not 3x+2.

@sat1prep: I had the dog section and a CR experimental. Maybe it just differs on each version of the test.

It is 3x-2. I forget the exact question.
If you did the numbers 1-5 on the number line, then both of them worked, but once you switched the interval, only 3x-2 worked.

@187: do you remember anything about that terrible number line question with x and y and x+2 versus 3x-2

Well if the Dog section was not experimental and the cylinder question section was… then … thank god :D!

Although–now that I think about it, even though I don’t understand the answer, it has to be 3x-2 because if x+2 was true, they’d both work…and you can’t have two options that both work. I know that 3x-2 works for some so…I guess that’s definitely the right answer.
