November 2009 SAT Math (US only)

i am so happy i didnt have the dog version of the math test.

is it normal for there to be two versions of tests?

No^.

And agreed with checkmate.

lol my math test was so easy i think i missed like one, if that many. the curve is going to be harsh. -1= 740 ftl

does anyone remember that question that had a quadratic curve and said that the curve went through points (2,-3) and (-5,3) and asked you which of the following points also fell on the curve?? was (1,9) an answer??

I vaguely remember a problem like that but not the answer. All you needed to do was find the axis of symmetry and count over right?

Yes, and I think you have the right answer fly.

well if you do the axis of symmetry way- then you’d get (1,3) but if you do it the alegebraic way (which I didn’t have time to do at the test) but I did it at home (i know- so dorky lol) and I got (1,9) so I’m a little confused…l

Jshapiro- great ol, but that’s a bad thing because I think I randomly put (1,3) because I ran out of time

i think it was 1,3

To be honest, I don’t know what the right answer is. I just remember a question about parabolas and both (1,3) and (1,9) seem familiar.

Did anybody have the problem with the knitting needles?

Okay, I stored the numbers on my calc and they were (-2,-3) min point and (-5,3) so the other point on the curve MUST be (1,3) because of the symmetry!

Yay! Thank you to all who helped :)

that sounds right, thanks for remembering the actual numbers

Well I know I missed 3 for sure (stupid socks and dogs questions…and I missed another tricky question regarding mean -.-)

Plus I’m sure I missed at least 2 more…-5 = 730-ish? I hope so =X I want a 2000+.

I had the knitting needles problem please tell me that was experimental i bombed that section

So it looks like the dog problem was 12. :)
