Yeah the last one. I think someone else said 9… so I’m assuming that’s what it is… Didn’t really get a chance to work it out lol.

jason… i dont think it said set x = c did it? didnt it say set x = 0

if thats so i got it wrong. i thought it was asking for the minimum value of the function if a,b,c were constants. that minimum value would be when x=c not x=0. I dont think it told you what to make x, but just that the function should be its minimum value as a whole, hence x=c

k was 9. Solving through that, by multiplying the top by -3, and adding you will get a 0=-12. Hence, no solution at k=9.

I meant to write 31, my bad.
How did I miss 37…

I think I wrote the numbers out wrong…

it’s still two but you read it wrong… It said how many numbers are preceded by a prime number: 32 and 38 were the two

The answer was a for the function question since it was the minimum. x was positive since all points reside above a.

@xAAAx

You are correct. However, adding 1 to the numbers was superfluous information. There were two regardless and what those numbers were is irrelevant. If it was a grid-in though which asked for one of those possibilities, obtaining one of those would have been very important.

ya… maybe…

do u think that section was exprimental?

anyone remember the 252010 volume question?

i know what you mean. i apparently read 1,000 as 100

oh yeah you just do 25x20x9 instead of 10 and divide by 5

Yeah, you had a box which was 25 x 20 x 10 and you had to find how many 5 cubic ft buckets of water would fill it so that it was 1ft form the top. the answer was 900

25 x 20 x 9 = 4500

you have 5 cubic buckets thus 4500/5 = 900 buckets are required

@tbonus: The section I referred to in my previous post? No, it wasn’t experimental. Section 4 was experimental. This can usually be inferred from those in the writing forum who had two 25-minute W section (I was one).

@g1111: Are you from the US? If so, that question was experimental.

mifune i had 3 math sections and i had that question

okay, so the K=9 question, I didn’t understand the question, so i did something random and got 9 for the answer & i guess i got it right yay!!! it’s still possible for me to get an 800 if i didn’t make any stupid mistakes(but i can almost guarantee i did)

I’m praying that the prime numbers question was experimental for me.
I still can’t believe I messed that one up.
And I didn’t have that bucket question.

Is it just me or was this one significantly harder than previous ones? I don’t remember January being nearly as difficult as this one

Idk… I think there were two math versions cuz diff. ppl had diff. grid in sections.

I do not remember the bucket question at all.
