November 2010 - Biology (E/M)

just confirmed, it WAS a fish heart. check out the picture from:

[The Vertebrate Animal Heart: Unevolvable, whether Primitive or Complex](<a href=“The Vertebrate Animal Heart: Unevolvable, whether Primitive or Complex”>The Vertebrate Animal Heart: Unevolvable, whether Primitive or Complex)

^nice find. i was looking for it too

what was the correct hormone function pair? they had stuff like cytokines and cell turnover etc.

Well, what I remember was that the rest were animals that had double circulatory hearts. Fish were the only ones that didn’t have.

I think PR book is not a good choice ==", barron’s totally better. Anw, the question about ecology like :
I. Plant converse light energy to chemical energy.
II. I forgot
III. Animals use plant as a source of metabolic energy.

I chose I and III. Anyone knows the answer?

that’s what I put.

I’m going to take Biology-E/M next month, what is the best book to use? I checked out a PR book from the library.

Put PR back. Idk about the others, but if you are shooting for a near perfect, or perfect, don’t use PR. That’s what I used and I was killed. but I didn’t study the WHOLE thing.

Oh, what’s wrong with PR? I looked at another thread with the consolidated list of books and it said that book was very good.

guys what was the answer for the light spectrum question?
something that asked about the “maximum wavelength energy that is visible to the human eye”?
i put violet something…

what did you guys put for the malaria one? was it a parasite?

ohh the malaria question…
not sure what i put that was hard
anybody?

I used PR and I thought it was better than Barrons. I got a 740 after shooting for 700.

PR is good. I’d use PR + Barrons.

I put parasite. which one was an example of symbiotic relationship? i think i put bacteria and plant in the soil, but wouldnt that be a mutualistic relationship?

Yes, the organism causing malaria is a parasite.
Abt the spectrum:
UV destroys cells
Violet is the answer for maximum wavelength.
Green is the color clorophyll doesnt absorp.
Infrared red is the remaining answer.

how about the muscle metabolism question?

goldnano!!!
appreciated

For the symbiotic relationship question, i put bee and flower…
wat was the muscle metabolism question?

oh wait, i did put bee and flower…idk!!! how the heck is the curve so harsh!

Muscle metabolism is probably like yeast in wine vat or sth: they’re all fermentation.
Symbiotic relationship answer is bee and flower :D
