****November 2013 SAT Thread***

Honorama1- I honestly don’t understand why this is making you upset. No offense, but if other students want to “break” CB’s rules, let them. They aren’t hurting you and you can’t get in trouble. Plus, students have been doing this for YEARS after each test. If CB didn’t want it to happen, they would’ve done something by now.

@sgtweed
oh what were you talking about for c then? there goes my 800 this year in math…
what did you get for the diameter and radius of the circle? multiple choice answer 18? like it said what would be the farthest diameter from point a to b
do you remember the combination question that said 6 and 5? was the answer 30 for that one?
the grid in question was like a chart
if x =0 then f(x)=8 then g(x)-10 something like that

@azny123,
a) for c i was talking about the one that said what value of x does g(x)=2f(x)+3 or something, it was multiple choice
Yeah I got 18.
I don’t remember the combination question, and I don’t remember the x=0 f(x)=8 question either, sorry.

@sgtweed oh alright thanks man before I forget there was a question where if you simplified it would equal to 5x-1 to 5x+1 im not sure if this was the correct question but it was like if any x would equal into this solution? this question was in the 16 math question section a)none 2)1 etc dont remember the rest of the choices

@azny
on the coin question, I can’t remember it. was it the one that had 5 large coins and 5 small coins and the small one was like 1/4 the value of the large? can you remember it>

@momof2ky yea that was it something like that. It asked what would the largest coin value be and it came out to be 1.75

The answer to the one with 5x is none.

@anzy
on the 5x+1=5x-1, if I am thinking of the correct question, the answer was none. Do you remember the exact question?

ALSO, did you get the last question in one of the sections that had two overlapping squares and it asked for the area of the shaded potion. There was a 45 degree angle marked in the lower left corner. If so, what was the answer and how did you do i?

@momof2ky sorry I dont remember that question for some reason… mind telling me what you got? And was it a multiple choice question?

oh! You would have remembered it. The 2 squares were drawn kinda overlapping . I had experimental math, so that must have been the last question of that section. Thank goodness!

I know I got 192 for the last grid in but I cannot remember the question…Do you?

also, on the Alice passage, what did you put for the question about her troubling 'ease?"

I found the passage…

“She could not remember what it had felt like to believe in Santa Claus, either. That faith, too, had slipped away from her with casually troubling ease. Like discovering a hole in her pocket through which a precious trinket had dropped and been lost, she could not pinpoint when the miracle had left her.”

I forgot what I put…I remember the question though

@momof2ky i remember that question but i don’t remember the answer choices…honestly I did pretty bad on the reading section…

@momof2ky, she wishes she could remember –– something along those lines

I got this passage! I found it to be strange… Especially the last set of questions. I can’t specifically remember what you’re referring to though?

Does anybody remember the answer to the math question where it says that there were 2 circles: one with a radius of 5 and another with 4?

@labella that was 18

The author struggled throughout her whole life in a tug of war between duty and ______ expressing an internal _________

which one was the answer?
resistance/conflict
rebellion/tension

Good luck to every one !

Okay, that’s what I put (: I think it was second to last and thought that 18 would be the “Joe Bloggs” answer.
