@krauser126 i feel you hahah its my third time taking it and i really dont want to go back :,(
@kmcfadden99 If only youd gotten 1 more question correct on the CR and a few more on the Writing and youd be on the 2400 Hall of Fame Seriously though thats pretty impressive I wish I could get that high! CONGRATS!
Does anyone remember the mean=median=mode math question?? What did you guys get for that one?
@Parislove98 I got 9 wrong and 650 as well. For October I got a 9 on essay and 3 wrong mc and received a 700 so you should probably get 720 - 740 range
I’ve also already predicted my score range, but likewise, I’m biased. Can anyone predict for me please?
M: 2 wrong, 2 omit
W: 2-3 wrong, 10-11 essay
CR: 3-5 wrong
@samsunguser
My estimate using lowest score prediction:
CR 730
M. 720
W. 720
Total 2170
@HelloEveryone27 I’m low income so I had a certain restriction to the number of colleges I could apply to.
Reed College. Portland, Oregon.
Hamilton College. Hamilton, New York.
Grinnell College. Grinnell, Iowa.
Cornell University. Ithaca, New York.
Yes, I know there’s an elephant in that room, but I have faith in holistic admissions. I’m going in with a light heart and ease of mind
How about you guys, which universities are going to be lucky to have you next Fall?
Guys, is there anything wrong with taking the sat 3 times? Would that be frowned upon by college admissions officers? This is my second time, but if I only have 2 tries, I’ll cancel my November score and just study for January.
@AGoodFloridian
I feel like that question is like level 3 at max because once you realize that it doesn’t affect median or mode it’s pretty straight forward
@ambitionsquared Score Choice.
@AGoodFloridian I don’t see an elephant in the room, just another great school deserving of a student like yourself. Good luck on the admissions process, and if you don’t make Cornell, your other options are well-respected and should make for an enjoyable 4 years. For myself, no college is going to be lucky enough to have me next fall… because I’m a junior lol.
@IneffableMind My main targets are schools that don’t have score choice, namely UCLA/UC Berkeley. I think I would have to send all scores to the Ivy Leagues as well.
We all camping till 5 AM on Nov. 24?
@AGoodFloridian I am a lowincomer too. In addition to that, I am an immigrant who got here during 7th grade 2nd semester, so my reading score is really low and as well as my writing… So the colleges that I can apply are SO limited. I do want to apply to those top schools but with my scores they seem to be a bit reaching…
My October score: R-460, W-660, M-770 (total: 1890…)
Hopefully I can get above 1930 this time. And the colleges will understand my situation through essays and my desire through my resume…
I am applying to University of Michigan…
Thoughts on what colleges will match me? (Anyone?)
Planning to major in dental.
@krauser126 Thanksgiving break that week, so it seems highly likely ahaha
@renegade23 sadly I have school Mon-Wed :L Btw what’s your goal on this SAT? Your score breakdown. Also, you think I should retake if I get a 2250-2290? I want to get into Harvard, Yale, or any other top Ivy Leagues. I have a good amount of extra curriculars and good course load and diversity (born in good ol’ Africa (Morocco) )
@krauser126 I would love to break 2100, but I’d be satisfied with high 2000s.
I definitely don’t think you should retake if you get in that range. That is a great score for any school. I constantly read how minute the distinctions are between a 2250 and a 2300+. Sure it looks better, but at this point, I would just accept it (and be proud of it!) and just leave the rest into the hands of the college admissions gods lol
@renegade23 Ok thanks for the input!
My goal is UT Engineering honors. According to score prediction and intuition my predicted scores are
Math: (-0) 800
Reading: (-5ish) 730
Writing: (-4ish and 9 on essay)690
Combines to a 2220. I also want to apply to some reach schools such as Stanford engineering. I have so far take one subject test (math II) and got a 800, but it is always reading and writing that bring me down. should i give it one more shot in january or call it quits and free myself from the shackles of the SAT?
Thanks!
@ambitionsquared - no. Nothing wrong with taking it three (or four…or five) times. It’s a bummer, of course, and money in the CB’s pocket, and there may be opportunity costs for you, but it won’t hurt your admissions chances (in my experience).
im a junior so i still have a year before looking to apply to colleges. Just trying to get rid of the SAT before the new one comes out. xP
