Don't count yourselves "short" scitsailor and marines4me. Most people applying to Georgetown would have a much tougher time getting into a service academy.

Hi,
The Academy is my first choice, but I also got an NROTC scholarship for the MIT brigade. I think that I have a shot at getting into Harvard, and I was just wondering if the NROTC helps at all.

Thanks

If you mean having the scholarship helps your chances of getting in at Harvard, I'd say it could. Although, I do know people that have received scholarships, but were not accepted to their first choice school. Some are able to transfer the scholarship. It might just depend on the number of slots available at that particular school.

Have you applied to Harvard EA? I have a NROTC scholarship too and am waiting anxiously to hear something. Congrats on your NROTC scholarship to MIT! Is that your 2nd choice, or is Harvard?

Have you received an invite to CVW? If so, when are you going?

I spent a weekend at the Academy on Nov. 19th. Harvard was my first choice for the NROTC scholarship, I guess that technically it is not affiliated with the school, but is a cross-town affiliate of MIT. I think that the scholarship is valid at Harvard, MIT and Tufts. I am only applying to Harvard and Tufts though.
For the academy I am triple q'ed and have a nomination, and if I get an appointment I am definetly going.
