<p>What are they looking for in the essays that we must submit? Should we just like state reason 1, reason 2, reason 3? 250 words isnt much to work with…</p>
<p>I’m applying to the china, morocco, and korea summer programs and on the website the dates for the programs are not very specific. Does anyone know when the exact dates of the programs are available??</p>

<p>I heard of the program October 24th 2010, and applied by the deadline of November 3rd. I ended up going to India… :)</p>
<p>NSLI-Y wants people who are genuinely interested in the country they’re applying to, or people who want to… learn languages and “change the world”.</p>
<p>Lol, that was an unfortunate typo. I meant “India”, as in the country. I know the language is Hindi.</p>

<p>I don’t think so. I definitely don’t have time to write the essay before the 3rd, and I think I’m going to apply for SYA Italy so I don’t want to bombard my teachers with recommendations to write. I think I’ll look into it next year.</p>

<p>I just found out about the program on Friday and I am cramming the application in since I am a senior and would like to do the summer program. I have read on other threads that its a fairly competitive program and 1 in 5 are accepted. does anybody know if a certain language choice would better ones chances?</p>
