NU ED responses yet anyone?

That's horrible. They have used a Web log-in system before. I can't imagine why they'd want to make applicants "suffer" longer than necessary. Was any explanation given?

Okay, I've posted this before I believe, but I'll post it again.
The lady that I talked to said clearly that NU would NOT be using logins this year due to system changes.

Why does no logins automatically mean snail mail? Couldn't NU send emails that direct the applicant to a site where you have to enter your ssn to get the decision?

Weirddd... maybe the email is to announce that your letter has been mailed?

I'm seriously hoping they mail the letters before the 15th, or else I'll probably find out around the 20th. :/

I thought letters were being mailed on Tuesday?

When I spoke to the admissions office on the phone the guy said they'd be mailed at the latest on the fifteenth...

I asked if they would be mailed beforehand, he said he wasn't sure considering they're still reviewing a few applications. :/ stressssss.

Noooooooooooooooo
[//cue epic music 300 style]

i think that Northwestern is still reviewing Questbridge applicants that didn't get into NU originally through the program but were given the chance to do ED.

^^ haha ink, that's what I ws thinking when he told me.

I know this may sound like a stupid question, but what exactly is Questbridge?

AHHH ok i refuse to find out later than the fifteenth. it's just NOT happening, i can't deal that long.

Honestly, I never got what QB was for either. I think it's mostly to help extremely bright, brilliant, motivated, low-income students get into schools that they would other wise unable to afford?

lol Ink, yeah that's essentially what QB is for.

...
I never got why they needed QB for that when there's financial aid and need-blind policies, etc.
Is there a difference?

well most people that apply to Northwestern through QB also apply to several other schools through the program as well. QB allows finalists to apply early up to 8 different colleges simultaneously and for free. the QB application was tailored in a way to show how QB students have done well, academically, despite obstacles. plus, if you are matched to any of the schools, you are guaranteed full scholarship for all four years.

Oh wow.
That sounds amazing.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm ****ed.

They said we would find out BY THE FIFTEENTH.

Mailing a letter ON the fifteenth does NOT COUNT.

***.

^^ Exactly!! I am hoping they change it or it was simply a miscommunication. We need to know!

Maybe someone should call again this weekend? I vote whichever answer we hear the most times, wins. lol

^Well, since for now we've heard about ten different answers, it'll take a huge sample size of calls in order to get any significant data...

fondly remembers AP Stat class

why do we have to be the class for this whole controversy to take place on? Everything seemed to have been working in years past... :(

jeez... no snail mail plz...
i'm in china... that mail may take more than 2 weeks....
which means i gotta do RD..
