Nude Chickens!!! First Quarter Course Load?

I am transfering fall 2009 (Tentatively). I am not familiar with the typical courseload on the quarter system. How does this look for my first semester?

Math 32A - Multivariate Calculus (4 units)
PIC 10A - Introduction to programming (5 units)
Econ 11 - Microeconomic Theory (4 units)

-and possibly-

Stat 35B - Introduction to Probability (4 units)

Any experience input would help.

P.S. Sorry, no nude chickens!!!

What major are you? It looks like math/econ, and from what I saw from the courseloads for those classes it seems doable for all 4. That's only 17 units, and the cap is 19. Average courseloads are around 15 units.

Dinoian, thanks alot.

Do you go to ucla?

Yeah, I'm a math major

If you're coming from a semester system, adjusting to the pace is hard (from what I've heard), but what's most difficult is adjusting to academics - classes your first quarter are going to blow you away. Especially Econ 11. The curve for that class was pretty crazy, and I can post it if you like.

Once you're gotten used to the new environment, four classes are fine.

haha i'd like to see that 11 curve. was it anything outrageously different from previous Qs or something?

From first midterm -

82 & up A+,
75-81.5 pts. A,
67-74.5 pts. A-,
61-66.5 pts. B+,
56-60.5 pts. B,
52-55 pts. B-,
48-51.5 pts. C+,
43-47 pts. C,
38-42.5 pts. C-,
33-37 pts. D,
0-32.5 pts. F

mcdevitt or board will make u **** your pants for econ 11. and im not exaggerating at all. your calculus better be stellar and thats the least of ur worries. altho ed mcdev hasnt really taught econ 11 for a couple of quarters now...he's not even teaching 101 next quarter...wutevs...

Stats35B is a joke

Were those curve grades out of one hundred? 43-47 is a C? If it is out of one hundred, that means you can get less than half right and get a C?

yea Econ 11 last quarter was pretty crazy
but I really enjoy taking McDevitt's class tho
