So I've always wanted to go into science/medicine, but I recently realized that I'm also very interested in Nursing. I'm a senior in HS, and I already applied to colleges (and have been accepted to a few). None of these schools have Nursing programs (save one that is already full and does not allow transfers). What should I do? I feel like everything is moving too quickly... I've considered taking a gap year for other reasons, would this be a good option?

Is it possible to transfer into a direct entry program after a year of college? Has anyone heard of this? Is it even possible? Or should I just aim to complete my undergraduate degree and apply to an accelerated BSN program after college? What are these programs like? How is the application process?

I have pretty good stats and I'm really interested in Penn's nursing program (especially the dual degree with Wharton). But -- as I said, I'm sorta a year too late to be thinking about direct-entry programs. What should I do?

What were you planning on studying at the colleges/universities you’ve been accepted to? What has changed your mind at this late in the process? I don’t think taking a year off is a great idea…

basically, not to go into specifics, but I got pretty sick this year and realized that nursing was what I want to go into. I’ve wanted to work at a hospital since I was little, and I’ve always thought I would be a doctor, but that never felt quite right for me. Nursing just feels right in a way that being a doctor never did.

I’m by no means 100% sure this is the direction I want to go in, because I know I need to explore it more. I just wanted to gauge my options at this point and think about how to move forward.
