NUS: how tough to get in?

^ That’s weird, NTU didn’t send me anything? I’ll check.

Ahh so no NUS for me then? :p

but shouldn’t it vary from course to course

I got 95.4% in 12th and a CGPA of 10 in class 10.I have a range of co curricular achievements like anchoring in the IPL to quizzing at national levels.I was a Commerce Student in class 12 and applied for NUS Business School. So what chances have i got?
Has anyone received a reply from them?
Please Help

ishmeet
did you apply to any us
university?
I have no idea about nus but with your stats and some good ec i think you have a fair chance at decent us universities.

rishav, aren’t you heading to Northwestern?? Don’t tell me that you got a low FA package!

Btw, your marks are really awesome.

@hopingforbetter, No Northwestern. FA sucked.

^Ahhh So sad :(

I really wished I could meet you some day in the next four years. You are a bright student and I am sure you will end up fine.

Good luck :)

Hey, i’ve scored 55% in my 12th state board exams, now i know thats low . Im doing my ug BE(mech) in sathyabama university. Would i even stand a chance to do my masters in NUS or any other foreign branded university for that matter. Cosider im getting decent scores in my GRE and TOEFL. Please reply

NUS requires you to be at the top of you class, be it college or high school.
You can check previous admission standards from their website.

Hey, I took HLC in my intermediate, I scored pretty high for someone with those subjects, the I got
99 in French
91 in English
84 in history
81 in literature
And 67 in political science…
I just registered for my SATs in January… And I’m looking to study/work in Singapore… I would like to apply to NUS and Study psychology… What are my chances of getting in? Do I stand a chance?

hi im 11th grade student exactly 1st semester. i want to ask something about NUS:

is there any entrance exam for economics faculty or maybe other faculty?

if yes, what kind of test is it? SAT? cambridge A level? O level? others?

is there any english test? or it just using your current english score based on last report? or any toefl / ielts requirement?

how the elimination implemented? i mean they will see my last score? or is there will be any test then the last SHS score will just be the secondary? or is it able to only use the entrance test score as the only one academic decision?

thanks

Dear all,

I wanna know if I have a chance to enter NUS or NTU with the following acheivements:
Scored 93 % in class 10 ICSE.
Clearned the first level of NTSE
Have a few olympiad certificates
Pro quizzer, around 15 prizes
Hockey player…
expecting around 94 % in class 12 ISC

Well, my brother got 97.75% in his 12th final exam, yet he was rejected by both NUS and NTU. So admission is very tough.

Almost 98% and still got rejected? Was it in CBSE? If so then it might be because weak ECs.

Only one person was selected by NTU from our city that year, and his percentage was 98.17%. Hence my brother was ultimately rejected( bro had ECs like seventh grade in piano, winner of inter school quiz competitions etc.)

That is crazy. There is no real difference between 98.17% and 97.75%; that much error is induced by different checkers. It is a matter of chance.

Did your brother take SATs? Was he from CBSE or ISC? i have taken biology as my optional,
ISC Bio is very very tough.

@nsundrani Yes, social service does help. The degree of importance, though, depends on what you’ve done and how much you’ve done.
