So I'm an International from India, and wish to do engineering or comp. sc. undergrad. Hence Singapore seems like an attractive destination to me. The institutes, as far as i've heard are great, but I would like to hear the account of someone in engineering.

What percentage in cbse would be reqiured to get in?(I'm expecting~95)

Also, is the three year bond really worth it? Anyone who has experience with the bond ?

Why'd you apply to Colgate if you want to do engineering?

lol i like the college thats why..!!
AND the computer science program seems attractive

You're applying as a CS major too? Me too. Competition!

What are your stats?

stats o stats...SAT 1420, SAT2 2400, 10th 94%, model uns, school hb, blah blah blah...

okay, in case you want to know, i have a 1520 SAT and 2340 SAT IIs and pretty okay ECs, published poetry, founded, edited magazine, academic ECs and almost 90% 10th.

gr8..so we'll see who gets accepted:cool:

lol jk, cant say much about colgate..its tough to get in..

For NUS you would need around 95% in XIIth Board. For NTU, you would have to appear for an entrance exam. Generally only people with +90% in Xth are shortlisted for this exam(I am assuming that you are from CBSE/ICSE).

Regarding Bond: Depends. I would go for it only if i am not able to get into any of the US univ(which has a good chance). If you want to pursue Masters than the bond could be postponed for 2 years(you would have to get a rec from a Professor although). Or you could buy the bond back[you'll need to pay to some amount, check the site for details].

yeah, sure :D. or maybe we both will get accepted... or rejected!

you guys make me feel bad about my self :( lol ...

How do you think NUS/NTU would compare to places such as IUB? and New South Wales Asia ?

I don't know.

Really helpful, I know - but I'm only trying to get to the US.

I would place NUS/NTU above IUb and way above UNSW Asia.

IUb's great but still can't match the prestige NUS/NTU have.

Hey whats wrong with all of you?

NUS IS ONe OF THE BEST ENgG SCHOOLS IN THE WORLD!!!!!!

you need 95% to get into NUS . if you have an international/national award you have better chance.

if you got into an ivy..and NUS where would yo go?

if you're following the british system it's not that hard to get into NUS!

i chose IUB over NUS (got in last year but took a gap year!)

Yeah, almost everyone gets into NUS/NTU.

Nah, defintely not almost everyone gets into NUS/NTU. Only the bottom of my school does:D

What are u all talking about. NUS is definitely not easy to get in if you are in the indian system.

He's not in the Indian system.

abhishiv, how do you know everything about everyone?

I know everything, apart form what i am required to:)
