NY Unifieds and NYC Women's March

Heads up that the NYC Women’s March is scheduled for 1/19, the Saturday of NYC Unifieds,. This is not to have a political discussion, just to plan accordingly.

Last year, 200,000 people participated in the NYC Women’s March.

Most of the actual march is north and east of where most of the auditions should take place, but Ripley-Grier is kind of close, and both R-G and Pearl are on 8th, which could be a thoroughfare for women walking from Penn Station to the march. Also mass transit could be tied up so plan accordingly!

The latest map for the march puts the starting point at 71st and 8th (Central Park West), marching south to Columbus Circle, turning east and walking along 59th to 6th, then south on 6th to 43rd.

(I should have said ‘people’ walking to the march, not just women! Sorry!)

My daughter and I were at unifieds in NYC last year during the march, and there were no issues with transportation and 8th looked like it always does (except for all of the pink hats). I’m expecting the same when I’m there again this year with my youngest.

@Gapyearguru - you’re lucky you had no issues! D had an audition at Fordham in the morning and Marymount Manhattan right after lunch. We didn’t realize the extent of the march and made the mistake of taking an Uber. It was a nightmare (and she didn’t get any lunch)! If we had taken the subway, we would have been fine… My planning was perfect on paper.

And welcome to the “multiple kids going the audition process” club!

@MTmom2017 This is my third year of auditions in a row, and it better be my last!!!

In a ROW @gapyearguru?? Yuk! I went through 3x but had a year break between each of them. Not sure I’d want to stay on the train for 3 rides in a row! Hang in there - you have all the insider information

@artskids. IN. A. ROW. I have decided that my daughter will get into every program and I will never have to do this again :)) :)) I should start a blog about auditions to spread my knowledge!

WOW @Gapyearguru!!! I only did it twice - MT with a 5 year gap before Acting. ^:)^
