NYLF Medicine/DID.....is it worth it?

Ok....so National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine just sent me an invitation. This is for next summer (currently a junior), but I am not sure whether I should attend. Is it worth the week of my summer, and how much does it help my college admission chances?

I am also thinking of applying to DID NYLF (defense, intelligence & diplomacy)as well, but I don't know how good these will be for my application. I know, doing everything for college apps is bad, but i want to spend my time (and MONEY!) wisely. Please advise me =) Thank you in advance to all the kind parents who will respond =).

NYLF has been discussed many times around here. You can get a lot out of the program, but it is expensive. Attending an NYLF program will not help you out, admissions-wise. The "invitation" goes out to a huge number of students. There are only a few truly presitgious summer activites (TASP, RSI, etc) that will impress an adrep. However, do not let that stop you if this interests you; adreps want to see activities that build on your interests - add depth to your resume. Good luck!
