Congrats!!! @DenNuggs4life When was the first time that you applied to NYU???
Just wondering, what were FA packages like for you guys as transfer students?
@freshlemon123 I applied first time last year for fall 2016
@nyu7896 yeah, i’m doing policy too. I have 4 of the core classes covered based on the transfer credit they accepted but I’ll still have to take the 2 science, 4 language and 1 culture class. I’m fine with everything except the 4 language classes–HATE THAT. And based on my transfer credit and classes I have to take, I believe I can expect on graduating in Spring 2019. I’ll double check with an advisor but I’m pretty sure it’s spring 2019.
ah guys, something finally updated in the system for me! my financial aid package loaded for the 2017 year, still no decision though
@DenNuggs4life I think what I’m most annoyed about is having to retake Econ classes! It seems like I will have to retake intro to micro and statistics which is so frustrating bc it’s going to set me back and I can’t move onto upper level courses.
Did anyone else that was accepted notice a change in their financial aid first?
Yeah so on Wednesday night I got a transfer credit report then Thursday night I saw a change in financial aid and then Friday morning I received my acceptance. I think it’s a good sign hopefully you hear tomorrow
^ Same. Anyone accepted hear from FA yet? it’s been 10 days since my acceptance and I still haven’t heard anything. I’ve only received an email from NYU regarding the housing app
@nyu7896 how do you know you have to retake econ classes?
I looked up the Econ major and they have a section of their website that addresses transfer student requirements and they said you have to retake the Econ classes :(( and they said they HIGHLY discourage people to file appeals
Ahh, I’m sorry
anyone know the enrollment deadline for spring transfer?
bu enrollment deadline i mean enrollment deposit deadline
When do we get an email from advising ? To register for classss
@jonesby sounds like you have a good chance!
Btw @DenNuggs4life I’m planning ways to take the least courses as possible to fill the core. So for foreign language instead of taking 4 semesters you can take 2 semester of intensive intermediate for the languages that offer it. I think both French and Spanish do. It will be hard but I’m gonna do that to finish my core up
@nyu7896 …do you need to have prior knowledge of, lets say spanish, to take those intensive 2 semester intermediate classes, or do they do everything fast from the beginning in order to fit it into 2 semesters? Thanks
From what I understand after reading their website you need to take the NYU online placement test and if you score high enough you can be placed into intensive intermediate. I have 1 semester of college Spanish so idk what I will end up in but I’m going to ask the advisor. I hope we’re assigned one soon @DenNuggs4life
But I’m not positive about anything this is just from my own research
