for RD? i think they look at your GPA and SAT and...maybe your essay yes...but...you got to know what you are up against ...RD is compettive

i think gpa/sat is all they really care about lol

That sucks. Will they take my January SAT scores?

GPA and SAT is not all they care about. I was definitely not accepted based on my GPA alone. My SAT wasn't very high either. Basically, you have to show them yourself through your essay and personal statements. If you impress them, they won't be able to reject you even if your GPA or SAT are slightly low.

Nonetheless, does anyone know if taking the SAT a fourth time is bad? Even if I improve my scores by a lot?

what is a good length for the essay? is 550 words too short?

PerfectFourth - There is nothing wrong with taking SAT a fourth time. NYU will only look at your highest combined score.

English05 - They ask for an essay of 400-500 words. 550 is not too short. Mine was about 450.

mine was baout 1000

1000!!!! wow, thats long! is that normal, is everyones like this??

mine was close to 1000 about...940 or something

which topic did you do? have you heard from NYU yet?

My essay was a safe 496 words. If you submit it online, your essay will be cut off at 500 words.

your essay does not get cut off...in fact there is no limit online

common app has limitation, if u do it at nyu website there is no limitation.

Do you take questions about Tisch?

hold the pickles, I have a daughter in Tisch. I can try to answer your questions, if you'd like, or put you in touch with her. :)

Alwaysamom Thanks, honestly the other thing thats bothering me now is waiting for the (hopefully) acceptance letter.

alwaysmom is the most informative and most helpful person here.

anyway...because you seem to know just about everything...

do you know any phone card to either Russia or Israel that is the cheapest in the market right now?

anyone here from there?

hey does anyone know how much stern alum make?
oh, n how much fin aid did everyone get from stern?

um...usually about $45,000 - $50,000 but if you have high GPA and stuff...sure, you can make more than that
by the way, that's the starting salary

ask Matti, Unreal, and other Stern acceptees here.
