NYU describes that one of the requirements it has is for you to send in your official transcript and your other necessary papers but I always thought you didn't have to send in transcripts unless they ask you to. so do you actually mail your official high school transcript to the school just like you would mail in recs and before Jan 15th? please help anyone!

yeah. usually people send transcripts to ALL their schools. I don't colleges trust people every average joe who says they are valicdictorian

Your high school transcripts/mid year report will most likely be sent in by your GC when s/he sends in the GC evaluation.

You GC will need to send in the high school report/recommendation forms and your transcript by the postmark date of 1/15.

You the student should fill out and sign the top part of the form and then give to your GC (with stamps and probably an envelope depending on your school's policy for sending out recommendations)

NYU is my match or maybe a safety since i am in NY, i will knock you out of the competetion. muhahaha :)

anyway, best of luck with the application but remember you are competing against me and that isnt much of a competetion :D

Does it matter if you're in New York? It's a private school....

Some schools don't ask for an official transcript until you are accepted. This doesn't happen too often though. The only schools i know offhand that don't require transcripts until acceptance are the UC's and GA-Tech.

obviously infocenter hasn't researched very much about his school. hahaha funny when he gets rejected from his safety

It is probably harder being from NY especially because:

NYU is a private university, so being from NY does not give you any sort of advantage.

Being from NY actually be a disadvantage because of hte sheer number of students who would be applying from NY and you would be in the same applicant pool as students who are applying from LI, Westchester County, Stuyvesant, Bx Science, Hunter, Bklyn Tech, Townsend Harris and other specialized programs who would be bringing in better sats.
