NYU Chance...HEOP?

Ok, let's say i qualify for HEOP.

My stats are pretty low, to start things off, but i have a couple things that might alleviate that.

SAT scores: 1550! (no, not the 1600)...i know i know i know..extremely low but in my defense....ok i have no defense.

SAT II: Bio M: 570/610
SAT II: Math II: 560/600

Ok, G.P.A :3.5ish

Extra Curriculars is actually my strong point and i'm sure some are more 'relevant' than others...but which ones exactly?

Well, here they are.

Science and Technology Entry Program:10th 11th 12th

Extremely Selective: 85% avg. to even be considered.
3 recommendations, 1 interview and a weeding test.

Varsity Soccer: Another of my relevant ones, which i hope will be a deciding factor.
11th 12th

Student Council
Leadership Position: Senior Member

The 'Challenge': "Jeopardy like gameshow"

Chess Club

Job Opportunities Program
Very Selective

Central Park Conservancy Intern

Well, i have a couple more but didn't add it on my application.(mistake, couldn't edit it after first submission)

Well, that's the gist of it.....how do you think I'll hold up?..(HEOP)

I also let NYU know it's my first choice.

Any honors, AP, class rank? You need something that is going to make you stand out.

Also, are you a URM (Black, Hispanic, Nativ. American, etc) ? That apparently raises your chances for consideration significantly. As mentioned before, you need something that’ll make you stand out.

Honors U.S History
Honors English
Honors Pre-Calculus
AP Biology

I rank 18 out of appx 170.

Yes, First Generation African-American (My mom and dad were born in Africa, i was born in New York)

I schooled in Nigeria for some years so my essay was about my transition and my experiences in countries less fortunate than America.

Recommendations were also very good!
