NYU Chances (Slightly Desperate) ((For A Response))

I don’t really know why I’m asking for this. Okay, I mean, yeah I do. I’ve been endlessly stressing over NYU and I guess this will either tide me over, put me in a positive mindset, or assuage the inevitable rejection for the next two months, depending on the consensus here. I applied CAS, RD, and I’m undecided. So, please feel free to toss input, and do it honestly. Thank you so much, all!

Essays: CA essay was about going from making jokes to get the title/label of being funny to a genuine love of making people laugh. Specifically mentioned projects in high school like my campaigns that I received recognition for because I primarily used comedy to succeed.

NYU supplement was club-centered; basically explained how my clubs and involvement right now would transpose over to NYU. Specific mentions of study abroad, internships, College Core Curriculum, Freshman Seminars, performing arts, how I want to start a field hockey team, wanting to join the AAP and how I’m done dealing with race being a kind of elephant in the room in high school.

(In regards to either essay, if any of you want to take a look at either, feel free to let me know)

Also a side question: I did not fair well in pre-calc in junior year (got a C as a semester average, I’m pretty sure), but I’m more or less killing it in Calc with As, will they take note of this progress positively?

Again, thank you all so much!

Are you applying to the Arts & Science college? If so, you certainly have a chance, but it’s no sure thing. I’d say that Stern, or another highly impacted division, would be a huge reach for you. Gallatin is too quirky and holistic to predict.

I’m applying to the Arts and Sciences school, yeah

Your unweighted GPA is there (could use more course rigor) , and so is your SAT, but slightly below their average. If I were you, I would not have sent those subject test scores. Though, your ECs are looking great and your essay seem idiosyncratic. I’m going to give it a match.
