NYU Chances

HS: Grades... I'm not sure the exact GPA, my last report card was mailed to another address so I never saw it, I'm estimating a 2.6

Freshman College, first semester: 3.56
Second semester midterm: 3.8

ECs -includes some high school, some college, because I'm still just a freshman-

ACT: fairly low, in 20's range, I didn't study/prepare as I should have.

For HS grades, I **numerous/b reasons (some that are too personal to share here) of why they're the way they are, which I plan to include in the application

I have a great recommendation from a professor.

Please be honest, I won't be upset.

i don't know 50/50?

um.... okay? bump.

you are going to apply anyway, so just try it you have nothing to loose but some $50

what does bump mean?

^^ it doesn't mean anything really. Just spam to push the post up.

im in nyu now and i hrd its fairly easy to transfer in. I know someone with a 3.5 that transfered into stern (which is supposedly the hardest school to transfer into) i mean you're act scores are low (i think?) so that might harm you but you've got better than 50% i'd say.

3.5 into Stern? Their site said that for stren it's usually A- to A, which I think is 3.7-4.0, but there are always exceptions. Which school are you applying to? And from where?

bump=bring up my post. I think people should ninja bump and actually include more info in their post instead of just saying bump, helps both parties...

Applying to CAS from SUNY Plattsburgh

I'd say you have decent chances, especially if you can show interest in them. Remember, there are literally thousands of people applying, many with GPAs similar to yours. If you can find a way to stick out, I think you can get in.

Best of luck :)

omg etch. you just boosted my confidence on applying to stern!! :) :)
i was thinking of not even applying because my sat scores were so horrible. im back in the game now though.

Thanks! I hope I have something that will stick out

tracemhunter, you should be ok, I mean i had pretty strong sat scores but about average gpa from a verry competitive hs in manhattan (i'd say one of the top hs in america, no joke there are serious geniuses up in there). but my essays were garbage i literally think i busted out all my (freshman) essays in like 40 minutes.

you are talking about a 3.5 from college right? my high school record is a 3.2uw.

Are you serious? I've been working on mine for months, I think it may be the only thing that will allow me in :(

oops sorry i mean all of my NYU essays, not all my schools. just nyu.

That's what I mean to, I've been working on the same NYU essays since October, I want them perfect... it would really suck if I did all this work and still didn't get in.
